Whole new engine for sake of a HG and maybe a skim and headbolts?? Surely it's more effort to convert a SPi engine to MPi. I've heard you need oil filter housings and all sorts.

Tbh I haven't looked at the tow hook will do later

And I don't have the time to have the car not road worthy for so long i might whip the head of just to see
It's just that it got well and truly over the red twice

Also I have already got the MPI parts to go over onto it
As I bought them of a freon who crashed a while ago

Any one help having a bit of trouble getting the valve stem seals out on the 8v head

Also after stripping it all out got the head back from the machine shop cleaned some of the pipes up as they was full of crud
Only got the heater to clean out as I found a rad in the corner from my blue one

And after I stripped the front down I noticed holes in the valance so got the welder out
First bit I done myself on the car

Then looked into the arches and I hope I can make some before POL

PICS to follow

Had avert busy weekend got my new boot lid from SHEP123
Flattened got rid of all the silicon primed it then this morning
Painted it

Primer

Used the space heater to warm the paint up was a little cold today

Top coat

Then got to work on the rotten arches
Welded in a couple of plates as they rotted away so then got the good old fiberglass
And went about trying to shape them

Then this morning got another message from SHEP123 asking me if I wanted his alloys for my steels so
Naturally I went and got them

And also found an easy way to bleed the Cooling system by jacking up the drivers side and filling the header tank with
The bleed screws removed

Them alloys will suit it well, more than the Mpi's I think

I always jack up the drivers side when bleeding the coolant. I only have the bleed screw on the solid pipe as I'm running silicone hoses. Bit of pipe squeezing and tank blowing and I've never had an issue

Making good progress mate, even if you are making more work for yourself by reversing into posts

Right then guys got a feeling clutch is going cant seem to spin the wheels in the dry

An also my Pirelli 's on the back aren't up to much so went to get a price on a coupe of tyres
As I'm going to put 185 60 on the back as I'm paying £70 a time with the road pros and went to ATS all they do is nexen in that size now

So went around the corner to national tyres and they can do me some Yokohama A359s as a pair fitted for £130 is this a good deal do you think and what do you think of them

Seizing as I have some spare wheels thought I would paint my MPi's
Thought of a lot of colours decided on charcoal black LVD paint code

Paint cost me £13.80 not too bad I think

Anyway not been on in a while got some pictures of wheels referb but have had a slight problem
But il get to that later

I got bored the other day at work and found a 2 1/2 bit of exhaust pipe so out came the old silencer ( box rotted off of it ) and welded it on to the original flange like so

Before I cut the 10" over length bit off I toyed it mocking it up using the blue one (cat fitted) sounded goergeos

Then fitted to red one after with cutting down
Forgot I had de-cat pipe sounded amazballs think ken block rally car sounding

Was too loud so put cat back in and now sounds poo so the pipe is coming of and I'm going to try a mid box in at the back instead

Pics in next bit

im back from well infact nothing just not been on here much lately although i have done quite a bit of work on her

a few months ago i bought a rear gti arb from shep and after not having it on for over a month about a month ago i put it on when i realised how much roll there was after playing with a mate in his polo breadvan

so fitted it the day after

primed arb

primed drop links

painted arb

ns

os

found out i had a leaking wheel cylinder i have changed it but no pictures

now exiting bit

got some arch panels for my birthday becasue well i got fed up with looking at primer / filler / fiberglass

also i made a insert for the exhaust becasuse the drone was horrible having a headache all day was not nice

i also made it removable with a self taper

cleaned up the overall look with some stove paint

also with the heat recently wanted to take the sun roof out and figured this out to secure it

then bought myself this from tom yarwood on the fb site

had a 10 min practice at lunch on the blue one so i can get a bit of practice before i do 2.0's arches

and then a photo from saturday when i went out riding up the old dirt jumps with some mates

managed to fit :
2 bmx
1 26" dirt jumper
1 shovel
1 pitchfork
3 bags full of riding gear
1 tool box
and an empty 25l drum

and 3 people so turns out its not such a small car

reason why mpi's are on in primer is because the bronze alloys tyre was showing some cords on the inside
