There are two types of calipers for the a-series known as the a and the b type but i believe that it has to be a very early metro to have the a-type.
I am not aware that they should have different threads.
What year is your car?

uploading pictures in forum posts can work. if the picture is smaller than 100kb in size and you try a couple of times otherwise use imageshack or something like that to host your pictures.

my blue a-series hill climb car has a set of black diamond hoses with part number dhk031. they fitted nicely all around. as yours has a 1989 setup I am sure they will also fit yours, and there are probably a lot of cheaper alternatives on ebay that also fit.

IIRC all threads on Metro brakes are M10x1

you can buy steel braided hoses from Black Diamond or Goodrigde. or original rubber hoses every car parts shop should be able to supply, part number BH296 or LH5142 or BFH4350

thanks, nice to know. I had never heard of different threads but knew there were two types of calipers. they could have used some imperial thread in the early calipers.
