As above. My old one is like a string vest and not recoverable. What are my options ? I've tried Rimmers but no joy. Did find one on preloved but sold. Don't really want to put a secondhand unit in.

There are three filler necks on ebay two of which doesn't specify whether they are for a two or five door. This is the item number of one. 222428457227

Try minitechnique in pilling Preston . He has loads of metro parts+mini stuff.
You could also try M+M mini+metro breakers in Warrington.
Both of these are online or give them a call.

In the interim I'd wire brush the old unit and coat it with a couple of layers of fibreglass matting and resin - well worked in. It would be leakproof, sturdy and resist further external corrosion. Given where it is situated, it would not spoil the look of the car. Not as good as a new unit but better than the smell / leaks / safety problems of a perforated filler neck. Best done when it's off the car. Good luck.
