ok im fitting a vvc next week into a 1.1 kensington (n reg) how will this effect the emmisions? surely the vvc will give out higher emissions, so how do i get it to pass the emmisions level of a 1.1?

3 or 4 cats in a row i think they do it by what capacity the engine is, as long as its got a cat it should be ok. marc

but as its still a 1.1 on the log book, wont they test it as a 1.1, is there much difference in the emmisions levels?

yes i am suppose to change the log book, but all that takes time, and i want to get it moted first, from what ive heard the vvc might be better on emmisions than a 1.1 spi, lol so i might not have to worry

Doesn't make any difference, there is a level that all cars must adhere too, wheather is a 1.1 or a 8.3 V10 it still has to pass on the same CO level (which I can't remember what it is rite now due to a headache!)

the car in question has a hg failure, thats why the vvc has to go in before mot, hg failure sends emmisions threw the roof

Yeah you dont have to change the logbook for the MoT, it wont make a difference to the test they do anyhow because they only test tickover emmissions which all cars have to adhear to, its only once its motoring that it will be higher. My VVC was well under what it had to be but that was on a non cat test because mines a '91.
