Welcome to MP. Hopefully you can make at least 1 good GTi out of the 2, white is a very rare colour these days.

Depends how far you take the build. Gti 4pots are fine with decent pads in. As for wheels just check thru the site..

Welcome bud, gti brakes are single pot sliding, same as mgf. They're just vented opposed to std solid discs on std metros as said, youl be fine with them and decent pads. Gti wheels are my fave, just get some sticky rubber for them. Get some pics up.

Forgive my ignorance.

Forgiven 4pots were fitted to a series metros. Would of been nice if they followed on to k series.

Wow for 30k miles she's in quite a state. It's 100% going to need a new roof skin and no doubt some floor welding. Deffo get the interior stripped out to see what's under those carpets. Start a journal and keep track of progress with it.

This is worse than my carribean blue one I had starting to think I'm a massive twat for getting rid of it aswell as my storm grey one !
But by all means do not get rid of this I haven't actually seen a white gti in the flesh. I do love them.

Welcome,

Great to see another new to the forum GTi on here, very rare car now!

As for parts, eBay, your local scrap yard, car forums etc. The engine is the same in some of the rover 214 and 414 cars to help source rare 16v Mpi bits.

I got rust bucket metro GTi in a field too,
storing in a field can rust them out even quicker than they normally rust which is pretty quick. so to slow this down I have got some paving slabs from the free ads in the local paper to put under mine as all the dew and condensation builds up. Also with the tarporline cover all the moisture that gets under it wont be air to vent out and will help it rusting.
Basically you need to keep it vented, slabs to help keep it level and stop the rising moisture and this also helps the wind can get under it to help dry it out.

Hope this helps
