Anyone know what the pressure should be at the Schrader valves under load (sat on the wheels) and no-load (wheels jacked off the floor) conditions? Mine is a Rover 1.1L 1993.

Hi

My Book says - assuming it's all standard and at design height of 341 +/- 10mm (wheel centre to arch) when cold and sat on ground Hydrofluid of 315psi +/-3% is required.

Off the ground is pointless (pressure at valve wont be any different) but you have to carry out pump up/setting of suspension with car on level ground, in neutral etc.

My pump is very old so the pressure gauge may not be accurate but when i did the lowering of my a-series tje pressure at normal height before lowering was 350psi and after rod shortening 550psi.

Hi

And of course if your Cans are suffering from loss of Nitrogen it needs more pressure on fluid side to compensate - up to the point when all you have left (a sign of nitrogen depletion) is hydraulic lock and no bounce effect on the suspension.

So each car needs its own solution really.

If the car looks right at the height you pumped it up at, then what does it matter what pressure its at.
