my MOT runs out 14th FEB. are there any things i should have a look at?(common MOT failures) its a 1998 'R' 58,000 mile 1.1 MPi. recent radiator, headgasket & water pump last year.

get yourself a haynes and then theres things to check at the start. who services the car usually? as a garage would normally pick up on things.

exhaust, suspension units, brakes, holes in the floor, structural rust, play in the steering, cv joints, steering gaitors etc, make sure they are all okay with no splits.

iv got haynes. just points out general points for all cars. i do servicing as i cant afford garages to do it,usualy find other things to do aswel hehe. im just looking for things that tros usualy fail on.

my haynes lists all the mot checking points that will be done, they are pritty much the same for every car.
the main thing that metros seem to be failing on at the moment is holes in the floor other than the usual mechanicals that can be easily replaced, so just go round and test all the suspension/steering/brakes the way it tells you too.

I got mine on the 28th - had a service this year had no probs there so jus hopin all is OK underneath
