I have a rover metro 1.1 and I have a rover 214i 1.4 16 valve. I want to put the 1.4 into the metro will the standard metro 1.1 gearbox be strong enough to take the extra power. Will there be any ecu imobliser problems???

What metro is it? Is it the ascot you mention in a separate post? If so Itl be mems 1.9 mpi and as long as it's a bubble 214 the engine, wcu, 5as and gearbox is plug and play so no immobiliser problems. Gearbox will be fine as the 214 and metro use an r65. It's up to you which you use. The 214 iirc will have a slightly shorter final drive. Please try to keep everything in one post in one section. Having several posts in several places is confusing and clogs up the forum.
