I know getting the high mpg figures is alot about driving style and i know some hif38 carbs has a leaning out tube for when you are at a steady speed, but how do you modify an engine to get better mpg?

basicly you do the same as you would do going for more power. reducing power losses will help the engine to work more easily, needing less fuel to do the same work.
my last SPi Mini with MD286 cam could easily do 4 liter/100km at steady speed driving Autobahn. obvious using much more if you use all the power and revs on country roads
