Right, gave the car a fully proper wash today- first one with the wheels on.

Also, have the chrome indicator surrounds which I think look smart and suit my car.

Also spotted this local-ish to me;

and it is currently FOR SALE, £250. PM me if interested.

Whilst advertising for the SE convoy to PoL on the Maestro forum I saw someone fitting these to their Maestro and I like them, so have some on their way! I think they are a nice subtle touch and should work well with the silver colour of my car. Will get pics of them on.

Where did you get these from dude?

Mini spares mate. They come in singles so you have to buy 2. £4 something each.

Getting the car in shape for Pol 2nd time round and as challenged by Gerrard my car was individualized and lowered to a practical yet good looking height.

Pics.
Slammed!

Sean's trolley jack; LOL

As it sits

Nice and fat at the back. Front down a touch?
Get yours done now Gerrard...

Took my rear bumper and all that off today for first time since I've had the car, nice and clean and no rot to report. It was off as I was trying to fit Quickspider's old Rover 213 reverse light into the fog blank as it's same fitment. HAd to mod it a bit to fit as the back of the lamp goes back further than a fog lamp and is set lower in bumper than a MK3. Yet to be wired in.

Haven't updated this for ages.

I joined the club, my HG finally gave up the ghost and was repaired thanks to 'R100_VVC' / Sean back in May. The oil was slowly weeping into the cooling system. There was no mayo, just the coolant was now a brown sludge. It never overheated and ran fine so really it was just me wanting it done for peace of mind that made me get it done. Luckily the oil wasn't contaminated at all so saved a couple pennies there. There was photos but Liam's mobile decided to wipe itself, so there are no longer any photos of the job. We used new genuine Rover head bolts and elastomer Payen headgasket, not MLS. This is due to experience of Sean that has found many MLS gaskets weeping externally causing issues later on, and especially as the engine is wet liner.

In other news, the radius arms were giving play and since they are hard to get I changed them when my local motor factors had just 1 of each side in stock. Daz and Sean did these aswell as I've never even thought about anything to do with them or fitting them so. Actually have photos!

Radius arm off;

Old bearing on passenger side! Wouldn't come out!

Car jacked up;

New K series arms! Hard to find now.

New arm on;

Car handles and feels so much better and tighter now.

Last year I removed the plugs out of the jacking point in the hope that should the underlay ever get wet it would help dry it out- except for when you drive through a mega deep puddle, then that's how the water gets in!

After taking the underlay out to dry I decided when I put it all back in to give the car a proper good clean inside and out as the interior is a mess most of the time;

Had these for ages and finally got round to fitting them, uber rare Metro GS C & D pillar trims. Covers the painted metal and makes inside bit nicer.

Plans to make it go faster soon...

With the go faster plans getting closer, thought we'd better make the car stop aswell.
Ordered from ebay, a Mintex disc and pad set.

Few photos of me and Liam fitting MGF brakes to my car. Painted the calipers with smooth Blue Hammerite aerosol. Different.

Old brakes off

New disc on.

New pads ready.

The work space. My car in good company.

New caliper attached to brake lines

New caliper and brakes all on on

The other side was the same job. Lol

My car loaded right up- apart from me. Haha

And at Lakeside the other night with Sean and Daz
