Just a quick one I recently bought a metro that had a camshaft in the boot, the part number is LGC10234 I believe it's a vvc exhaust cam but not sure, I put the number into rimmer bros and it just comes back as a camshaft but doesn't say for which engine.

Anyone got any clues?

Deduct the base circle dia mm from the peak lift measurement, that will give you the cam lift, if its 8.8mm then its a std K cam,
if its 9.2mm, its a VVC exhaust cam, if its 9.5mm, its a 135 cam.

I'll measure it up tomorrow thanks for the info

It's got roller pins and threaded holes each end that's why I'm thinking its a vvc exhaust cam

Yep vvc exhaust cam ,I wouldn't pay too much attention to the casting number 'LGC 10234', that's just a
blank casting number, bears no relation to cam grind.
I came across a non vvc 1800 MGF once that had 2 vvc exhaust cams fitted instead of the std ones, it ran like a bag of shit
due to std 1800 ecu fitted, it needed a 135 ecu, (cams were timed in correctly).

Ah right that's why I couldn't find anything about it then.
I put a pair in a 1.4 spi gti engine a few years ago and it made it idle a little lumpy but drove fine, got a little gain from it to got 100bhp on the Dyno
