Decided its time to make a thread for my little metro. After owning a 1.1s (which got driven into by an insignia) it was only a matter of time until I bought another one..

That was my little 1.1 beast, the headgasket was gone, clutch slipping, carb was over fuelling, even with all that I still loved it.

I've been waiting a while now to find the right car, as you know there's plenty of shit about. Found this GTI on eBay and decided it was the right one for me. He'd changed the pads, discs, rear shoes, handbrake cables, balljoints, trackrod ends fitted a mgtf subframe, also came with mems3 loom and ecu fitted with pg1 box with type b lsd. After a 9 hour trip I finally got it home. Tomorrow I'm picking up a 160 vvc engine for it.

Waiting for its engine

Here it is with my mates 2.1 zetec turbo nail

Let me know what you think

Haha It's not your one in the photo so no need to be scrapped

To be honest after driving the st I reckon the metro will beat that too!
Aye I think I got one in with all the stuff.. Hopefully haha!

Get the PAS pulley machined off the crank damper pulley, then get it, and the crank, flywheel and clutch
cover balanced.

Can't be dealing with getting the crank lightened but I will get the pulley done as the pas part is obsolete now. Ordered a timing belt, belt kit, water pump, Downpipe and manifold gasket from GMF £134+vat oh bloody hell

I didn't mean to get the crank lightened, but get the asembley balanced, you will notice the difference.

I can get one.. Sportex gotta modify the down pipe a bit to get it to fit.. But apparently it's worth using

If I can sort the alternator wiring tomoro it's pretty much ready for the road..

Though I do have a misfire under load, tried changing the plugs but the engine had been standing for around a year so will get my brothers trade plates on it tomoro and take it for a run see if they helps,, fingers crossed its not hgf
