Bought this a few months, put a bid on it on ebay and thought "i'll never win it for that" and walked away...

Got an email while I was at work a few days later, youve won an MGB GT, sayyyy whaaattt???

Its a poo brown, 1980 (rubber bumper, with no bumpers... lol) MGB GT, latest of the late.

Paid fook all for it and its actually quite solid, it had been resprayed a few years back and isnt too bad but I hate the solid poo brown colour, so have decided to cream cracker it.

It runs like a beast, and has a stainless tubular manifold and single box exhaust (which exceeds the value of what I paid for it lolz)

A little photoshop to show the rideheight I want, alas, wirewheels probably wont happen (cause frankly I CBA, and prefer minilites)

removed this lot so far -

leaving me with this -

got bored and started painting -

The blue one is my MGC GT, its not a v8, its a 3ltr straight six, only thing I find that compares to that splitter is a GT LE splitter, but even that doesnt look as aggressive...

Wanted to find one for my MGB but canne find one that looks the same.

Great 70s colour that.

Front spoiler on the 'C is a Special Tuning one, can get reproductions in fibreglass from the likes of Moss no problem.

K series MGB Fred?

Dont tempt me! (ive just bought a TVR 4.0ltr engine, ported and polished (stage 2 bs) high lift cam with an SD1 vitesse box, lightened fly and 6puk clutch but got it so cheap I may consider selling it at a profit and going light and revvy...)

Did some more painting, pass side is almost all done, just got to sort the rust lower down and then prep it and its happy days.

p.s. dont take the piss and say it looks flat, its satin paint, this respray owes me £40, the car owes me the square root of fook all so would be pointless getting it pro sprayed, montana rattle cans ftw!

TVR V8 or Rover V8, as used in the TVR?

I'm going TVR engine in Jennie's BGT (at some stage), but speed 6 cos straight 6s are more awesome than V8s, and it makes 400hp out of the box.

Rover V8 but from a TVR lol

Dyno'd in at 382bhp ATF before being removed... cant argue for the price I paid rofl.

Would love one of the TVR 6's, but fook me there expensive!

I want to get it finished during the week, if it were at my parents it'd be easier as its closer to home but ive got to finish work then drive the wrong way to get home in effect.

need to take my angle grinder and welder over, so I can start cutting it up and making patches... if I put the time in hopefully it'll be done quicker, just want to get it on the road for now, sod the engine change at the moment.

Should be a big leap in progress this weekend, going to get as much as i can as ive realised I dont have the time in the afternoons (seeing as its dark before I leave work!) and I get lazy when its dark lol.

Want to get the brake lines finished and all bled up, and the whole car painted, got to take my rotary sander over and sort a few little bits out, oh and the welder to do the end of the sills and weld a few other holes up!

nice project!!

random bids are always worth doing,

sr20 lump would be pretty cool in a B, I guess you seen that white MGB on youtube in the states with the supra lump and 400-500bhp. awesome car looks like a stock MGB too.

Yeah ive seen the 2JZ MGB, but there is a SR20 B owned by kyle bingham (google kyle bingham SR20 MGB and it'll come up) which gave me the inspiration.

Would still be happening if I didnt get offered a fairly good S13 for cheaps, which is going to be a longterm project seeing as I dont actually "need" it on the road, and want to spend my time doing everything I wish I hadve done to my last one.

Did a bit more work, redid the top of the pass wing as I wanted to remove a random hole it had in it, same as on teh drivers side, can only presume for wing mounted mirrors (but too far back for wing mounted mirrors :|)

hole on drivers side -

welded up pass side -

skim o' filler -

sanded and painted -

got the front brake lines made up and fitted, just got to rip the old rear lines out and fit the new ones then bleed it!

might have to buy 2x arch repair panels, cause theyre worse than I thought...

Roofs now 100%

need more beige paint, and more nozzles, as a few are fooked

just got drivers side to paint and do some more welding and more brake line makings.
