You only need to declare colour changes with regards to paint. Vinyls need to be declared if they're full-bodied vinyls, i.e. wraps etc. Only things you really need to declare are things like aftermarket seats, steering wheels, head units, audio etc. My headunit and custom speakers are all declared. My R100 is completely legal.

Quite finished? I wasn't starting on you, you took offence at an honest statement. You need to grow up fella.

*EDIT*
Cheers for the free bump though mate!

Haha cheers guys
And yes, we shall see.

Lowering hopefully coming soon, Pineapple Dan is having some part in it as well, we're gonna make a day of it. Lowering that is, no pineapples involved.
Gonna get the Dytecs on first though, and soon - collecting them from SRi_T a week tomorrow, after Download festival. Can't wait, it's been almost a month since I reserved them!

So, as some of you guys know, the solicitors are c**king me & Katie about with our payout from the car accident in Feb, so the plan for the Dytecs has been put on hold & I've told Lee to put them back up for sale, which he has. Bit annoyed, but bills, food and petrol before luxuries like alloys, unfortunately!

Got my new custom gear knob on though, much more shifting power! (...At least that's how it feels )

Finally, I personally dub RAWK car of the feckin' year after the appalling car parking conditions at Download festival! I flattened the exhaust, nearly ripped the sump off, smashed rear subframe off the badly-positioned metal plates they'd put down (in front of massive holes, not over them, so I had to drive down the ditch then drag my sorry underside over the edge of the plate. I even got stuck, it was awful), burnt the clutch cable to bits (next job is to get that replaced, it feckin' stinks of a burning clutch cable) and RAWK got dog-filthy.
BUT IT GOT ME & ADAM TO DOWNLOAD AND BACK THREE DAYS RUNNING. Fair. F*cking. Play.

You never smelt a burning-out clutch? Phwoar, it feckin' stinks. Mine hasn't got long left for this world, I reckon, judging by the smell of it.

I've smelt a burning clutch but not a burning cable. Or are they the same thing? Confused haha

As far as my previous experience has taught me, the burning smell tends to be the cable disintegrating. I could be wrong - Someone who knows this shit for definite please feel free to correct me!

It will have been the actual friction plate lining burning up as it slips....not good. Nothing to do with the cable.

Ah, well there you go then! Last time I smelled that smell, it was just before the cable snapped on a Micra I (briefly) owned.

So, picked up a new 5-wire door lock actuator from Halfords, and it looks like a pain in the dickhole to fit it to a R100, judging by the guide. Fantasticccc! Dreading that then.

So, changed my driver door lock actuator over to a Maplins one yesterday as the standard one was on the way out. What a pain in the arse that turned out to be! Took bloody ages to get it lined up straight so it would lock the door properly... Not difficult to do otherwise though.

Old one:

New one, 'bodge-fitted' to the original bracket:

So the car is going in for its' MOT on Thursday - I realised yesterday it's due on Tuesday. Madness. It'll need a new flexi-pipe and track rod ends at least, and I picked up a new numberplate yesterday. Niceee. July is going to be expensive, in a bad way.

I asked Adam Galpin for one of those stickers but never got round to it so thanks for the link . Good progress so far. Post the MOT results.

So, I was right to dread the MOT - looks like RAWK is coming off the road. I don't know whether I'll garage it and fiddle, strip and sell it, sell it as a failure or scrap it at the moment though.

Anyway, it had two failures and 12 advisories (yes, TWELVE). The failures were driver side trailing arm is shot (he could literally twist my rear wheel left and right) and my exhaust has a major gas leak (not a surprise after Download festival). My issue is, if I pay the money up and fix RAWK, how many of those 12 advisories will either become serious issues in the next 12 months, or become failures come its' MOT in 2013...

So, in short, it's not sustainable enough a car to keep as my daily for the time being (which is shit - I just put a brand new front number plate on it! Haha), so a hunt is being conducted to find me a decent replacement to get me to work and back.

That's all for now!

fix the 2 failures for now and fix the advisories one or two each month, it just depends what they actually are to how quickly they might turn into failures...

Well, both front & rear subframe are in the advisories list for a start. I can't justify the £350 in the next 13 days to keep it on the road, I'd much rather put it to bed for a little while in the garage and pick up something more reliable and more comfortable to get me to work and back, then come back to it in a little while to be deadly honest!

Itll cost you that to buy another car? Why not get her fixed and then pump up the suspension a little for a bit more comfort...
