Member Posts: 74 Location: southampton | Hi guys in another thread ive been working on an efi system for the A series and ive made it ive bench run an engine and have got some real results and have overcome the inner cylinders robbing the majority of fuel . What im offering is someone with an A series metro to come to my workshop and I will fit the system to there car and set it up and to get some miles under its belt and progress it from there . preferably someone not a million miles from Southampton so that I can continue developing it . it doesn't matter what engine you have as I will put the whole engine in if need be but if you have a decent 1275 I can just pop the head on as the head is special and specifically modded for the efi system ive come up with so whos up for it and like I said its free!!! I cant offer fairer than that and you get to keep it but the deal is I can get feed back and do some development until its perfect which wont take much as im close now and ive dyno'd my engine on a converted dyno for outboards and got 92 hp out of an mg 1275 with little mods I dyno'd it with its carb and the head mods and made 87hp so it works and makes more hp and the other huge noticeable thing is the smooth running and on the fuel flow meter at full throttle carb model drew 47 litres per hour and the efi drew 38 litres per hour that's a huge difference its also running coil pack ignition which will be fitted , and between all cylinders the air to fuel ratio is within 8 percent of eachother across the rev range.

Plus my driving is a nice mix of economically going to the park, and some heavy footed recreational use... all good for feedback! Don't do many miles though... and I'm REALLY not local! A possible fall-back option if you have no takers though!?

That'll really tell you if it's worthwhile from a power point of view. Got any pics?

Member Posts: 74 Location: southampton | I will be posting pics over the weekend but considering i only started the project two weeks ago its a massive achievent that over god knows how many years people have tried and failed i think ive done really well to not just get over the problem of the siamese port issues snd the inner cylinders robbing fuel but to get a performance gain over the standard carb but for it to run really smooth good fuel saving and an increase in power i personally think ive overcome a milestone in two weeks .
