I had all the parts needed for a vvc conversion then I bought a carb model metro so what are the extras needed to convert it to injection ?

I'm also planning on using 5.5j 13" steels (haven't arrived yet) with mgf brakes do I need spacers or so modifying to the caliber ?

In regards to the subframe I'm using the metro frame as the mgf is too rotten to patch but can I use the subframe arms off the mgf ?
I have seen people use the metro engine mount arm with spacers on so will the mgf aluminium engine mount arm already have this of set ?

Thanks all

Better to find a mpi as you need lots I had enough trouble swapping spi to mpi you basically need the complete fuel system including tank and fuel lines engine loom and all the small bits like ecu bracket throttle cable water pipes

You'll need the entire body/ dash loom and preferable dash as well to make life easier. Steering column etc.., fuel tank, fuel return lines, fuel filter housing. May need filler neck but can't be sure atm. Find a scrap SPi/ MPi R100 in a scrappy and spend a day stripping it. If your lucky you may find a late GSi which will have wiring for electric windows and adjustable headlamps.

Ok thanks, but why do I need the dash and colum etc. ? I'm planing on changing the clocks for one with a rev counter anyway.
Also do I need to spacer the engine mount ? I'm using the pg1 box

Cheers

yes, best to change the steering column and dash too as the switch stalks and hazzard switchs are in different places on the r100 to the rover metro.
I have done this to my own 1.1 carb metro, I found a scrapyard r100 mpi, I removed the dash, whole car loom, fuel tank, all fuel pipes, engine coolant pipes, accerator cable, servo pipe etc.
I used the r100 dash as a large tray to carried all the parts on it upside down apart from the tank to the scrapyard office to pay
When removing the dash, you dont need to remove any vents, switchs or dials, the dash can come out complete. just disconnect the fusebox loom to the dash, heater wire cables and the speedo cable, then the bolts. you need to lower the steering column first though.

I was hoping to just change the speedo clocks as I want the car to be as standard as possible to the eye can the wiring be adapted to run the standard stalks and hazard switch. Also no the mpi have a connection for a 5as unit.

Thanks for all the help

not really as theres about 50 wires, and on the r100 the rear wiper are on the stalks, metro button under the rear fog switch. Unless you know metros really well, no one will notice the stalks are the later type.

OR you can fit rover 800 / landrover freelander stalks to the r100 and these looks a bit older.

MPi and SPi R100, yes.

Get as high spec loom as you can, saves sodding about later adding features like rear speakers and electric windows.

If you want original stalks and steering wheel then you need a SPI or MPI mk3 loom instead, as the plugs are all totally different for the stalks etc... And whether or not they have 5as plug I'm not sure. This will be hard to come buy as only very late low spec mk3s were SPi and only the late GTi 16v was MPi.

Not sure the MGF callipers fit under 13 steels, under the spi alloys they need modding

regards mgf arm, no its not a direct fit, ive know people cut the back of the headlight to fit it , also know a few that's had the ally support made shorter,

can't you just the cut the metro mount and weld it in the correct place.
