Washer bottle is from Ace Car Parts, new calipers were from my local motorfactors ( Motormania ) they sourced them for me.

Hi all !

Small update - been very busy tossing about with all sorts of things but dont worry shes still underway ! Have been asked numerous time if ive scrapped it yet but shes definitely going to be alive and kicking sometime in feb / march

Got a custom rad made as I was sick of the mgf rad not being a great fit, this is also quite thick and has inlet and outlet on the gearbox side so is much easier to pipe up and will allow expansion in the future

Bought an exhaust from maniflow - they kindly provided me with a 2 inch version of their k-series exhaust (they welded the correct mounts to an a-series and gave me a clamp/mount lash up which is actually quite smart) think ill be leaving the extension pipe he gave me though and getting a proper link pipe made, probably flanged up.

Got my wheels powder coated at city powder coaters in digbeth (just down the road from the bullring) top blokes and they only charged £20 a rim to acid strip, bead blast, powder coat, paint and lacquer !! Havnt got a pic but these will be wearing some A539s in 175/60, from EARS motorsport at a cracking price - look them up !

Fitted my painted dashboard courtesy of Todd, gave it a lick of satin black and boom !

Bought a universal fuel guage (demonmotorsport - very nifty and easy to use highly recommended) fitted into the top of my lovely tank; sort of a shame to stick holes in it but needs must !

Currently having a new rear quarter and respray carried out by metro190bhp - imo the best person on the forum for top bodywork give him a try ! ~Will update when body is complete.

This was sporting an arch repair panel on the passenger side, inplaces it was doubled up over the original panel and i had the terrible feeling the inner arch wasnt structually sound.

Dropped the metro off to Metro190bhp's bodyshop, where it is currently undergoing a full transformation

Rear quarter removed

Inner arch trimmed and prepped - ready to receive repair panel

Test fitting the new Genuine rear quarter - courtesy of AK Motorsport

Will update further when eagerly awaited parts arrive from Ralph and other forum members

Have been fiddling about lately with a bit of carbon wrapping (you'll have to wait and see )and still playing with MGF clocks - HUGE thank you to Matt for sorting me a plug for my clocks which proved elusive aswell as most of my rubbing strips !

Also thanks to itsonlyme for sorting me all manner of bits and bobs with his usual spot on service !

While ive been sitting round faffing Metro190bhp has been grafting like a good'en and his working his magic

Hes removed all traces of rust and prepped the blind side of the cage reinforcing plate welding and put in a small patch by the internal side of the subframe mounting point - but his panel work is so spot on you cant see it in the photo, then given everything a good coating of zinc primer

Had a small patch between the inner quarter and rear valance cavity and more primer

New quarter on

After the rusty inner arch was cut off, a repair panel has been welded in to the inner arch and then to the quarter panel

The arch lip is being rolled in completely so theres nowhere for dirt / debris and water to sit and rot the quarter, after its welded its going to be fibreglassed so its all nice and smooth and hopefully the dirt will fall out on its own or at least be very easy to wash out !

Also gave the inner rear quarter a little attention, with a Ralph pair of turrets going in ready for Gaz gold shocks to be fitted to the rear too.

The view from the wheel arch, after being welded inside and out, pretty sure Im going to brace across these

After seeing this side and Metro190bhp doing some prodding on the other inner arch lip the drivers side quarter is also going to be removed, so Ive got to undertake yet another 4 hour round trip to Leeds to collect a genuine Rover quarter for the drivers side

Plans are to solid mount the rear subframe by welding the rubber mounts and making some nice big brace brackets for the rear legs to make sure there is no lateral movement at all, got to weld some support bars into the spare wheel well to give support to the ali sheet that will fill the gap. After the bodywork is done (hopefully by end of January) then I can make some real waves with the rest of the car and get her on the road for spring

More progress Metro190bhp has been slaving away like an indonesian tea picker, now aiming to complete everything and have her on the road by this summer

Mark had to put in a patch on passenger rear arch as it was a little crusty and mark doesnt do treating and painting of rust, he only cuts it out - have to give it to him for being the only tradesman who treats Metros with the upmost respect and great care, give him a huge recommendation to anyone on here who needs work done to their 'tro !

Mark recommended I remove the already replaced drivers rear quarter as the inner arch didnt look good - so glad he looked as the inner quarter was awful, cant beleive whoever changed the last panel didnt see some corrosion and therefore just ignored it - pretty pointless !

All rot removed

Prepped for fitting of the new quarter

Fillered and prepped for paint

Inner arch cut to accept Ralph's turret, spot the small patch of rust on the left of the hole

Turret in and another patch (note how Mark takes no prisoners with any rust it all comes out and thensome !

Double skinned with patch on outer too

Door locks removed (more for security but aesthetics are a bonus !

No wiper for me thanks !

Another example of why Mark's obsession with cutting out rust is bang on - this was just a little scab on the rear floor, but with just a touch of the grinder its a flipping hole !!

Fixed !

Drivers side prepped for paint

Smoothing the LHD wiper holes

Will make another update very shortly - hopefully shell be in paint in a couple of weeks !
