Hi! As some of you may or may not know, i play in a metal band. I want to start taking it up to the next step and send our demo around a bit but the 1st step is to host my track online to send everyone the link to. But - where can i host music free? Putfile just does my head in.

Any help much appreciated!

Myspace is a really good way to get noticed - my boss' band is on there and he's added summat like 14,000 friends thru some software he got and now he's got a gig from it

Oh yeah and u can put your tracks on there as well...

I'm using myspace for now, nothing on this page but one of our songs at the mo.

Anyone a fan of metal?! Hope so....

Enjoy the guitar solo.

Yours both is the other end of the spectrum to what my band sounds like

been described as the kinks and the libertines molesting the knack.

Yep..did all the guitar work on those three songs before we recruited another guitarist. Hopefully it's not that bad.

Al, you asked, incase your interested...^^^

Its a strange sound, the sound acheived when all of the band members like different styles.
quite mellow, once reviewed as: 'snobs freindly'. Snobs is an indie/60's soul club in birmingham.

I'm just the piss poor sound recording tech for my mates band, as i'm too crap to be part of it....

I may suggest they stick something on myspace though they are supposed to be sorting a website out...they are a bit more mellow than metal, probably heading along the lines of Barber's band I guess...

I shall have to get some mp3's uploaded, seeing as I have them all as i've recoreded them all LOL!

Doomed to be a techie, well I am now as it's taking up a lot of my time mixing tracks down to mp3 from the 4 track...

*Picks up Warwick 5 string.....and throws in the bin.

Picks up '84 Ibanez Musician 4-string and smiles...*

5 strings are useful but feel like a cricket bat to play IMO, anyone else agree?

Anyway, what does anyone think of this;

http://www.myspace.com/konceptmetal

The drummer quickly whacked this down on his own in 1 take the other day, not brilliant quality (and he sucks on Bass, and its just using drum samples), but its the direction we're heading in. Opinions?

Nah he loves his Precision, hes had it for about 25 years. Got the Jazz bass last year though, and he lurves that, he runs Gallien Krueger single 15, and a 4 x 10 Mesaboogie.
