Good effort, but that will come through again pretty quickly as the rust is still there. The moisture will bubble the filler in no time especially in this weather.

Good job, white is such a nice forgiving colour when it comes to edging, but it will come back as people have said!

Looks good, i did this with my arches but you've made a better job than i did. Mine have started bubbleing up again because i think condensation and moisture got under the paint when i sprayed them.

I'm not sure how yours will rust badly again as said if you sanded down through the rust to clean metal.

The reason that it will comeback again just as bad is because the rust is coming through from the rear of the panel... Surface rust occurs when the panel busts from the outside. When this happens it is possible to grind/sand the rust back to good metal again and the chances are it will bgood so long as the surface is protected again. 99% of the time this is not the case with metros and certainly in this case, as the corrosion is caused by moisture traps in between 2 panels and lack of surface protection in these areas. The metal becomes porous from the rear hense the bubbling of paintwork. Paintwork is not porous, therefore this can't be surface corrosion.

The only way to stop it is to cut it out and even then when u have welded a piece in make sure it is well sealed from the back because like said its comes from the inside out. You only need a pinhole and moisture will find its way in and start rusting.

nice job, if you got rid of all the rust it should be good for a few years, done mine in 2009 and there still good now I also hammerited them from the inside and go round with a old towel quick if i been out on salty roads. heres how much work i did on mine:

Hammerite is a waiste of time to stop bare metal from rusting. You need to treat any bare metal areas with etch primer a zinc primer or one i found good is finnigans no1 rust primer then paint hammerite over the top then wax oil

I disagree. in my experience there is no point in painting with anything if your going to cover it in wax (on non rusty metal that is) rusty bits will come through no matter what you do.

So ur saying leave the bottom of the car bare metal then just cover in wax oil lol. Wax oil is just extra protection over a good primer base like etch primer or factory e coating. Yes rust will come back if not fully remocef but can be prolonged with a zinc rich primer

Geeez leave the guy alone, he knows it may well come through again but its only a temporary fix and it looks 100 times better than it did before. It may last a couple of years by wich time the car itself may be long gone or he might have some more time/money to have a better go. Its easy to talk a professional job!
