Spark plug confusion.

The spark plugs in my 1118cc are confusing. If you look at the end of the plug, one side of it is a bit sooty - an indication of too rich, but the other side is light brown which shows that my carb mixture is about right. Are all of these engines like this?

I dont have experience with these engines unfortunately but I have some Carb experience.

If unsure if the mixture is correct , I have used a colortune kit in the past. That would confirm if you have a good or bad mixture.

Is the Carb an SU carb?

It is an SU HIF38 carb.
