New user Posts: 13 | I have previously posted in the 'new to metro power' area but was advised to start a journal, so here goes. Bought this 1982 MG Metro in 2010 and in all honesty havent done as much as i could in the time, usual excuses etc... This is the first complete strip down and rebuild ive ever atempted of any car. Hopefully there will be good strides forward this year. My intention is for it to be a road legal track car. Anyhow happy viewing... Edited by MLC 5/2/2014 6:34 PM

New user Posts: 13 | Havent posted for a bit, so heres a load in one go. Rear turrets in, roof de-seamed and body now completely painted. I have sent the roll cage and ronals away for powder coating along with a few other bits and the petrol tank which needed to be repaired and tested. Colour is brilliant white and as you can see from the sub-frames i am detailling it bright red and also as will be the case with the wheels, gloss black.

New user Posts: 13 | Thanks Ronals do look superb on a Metro, Think it was October 2011 when i picked it up off ebay, collected it from Exmouth. Nice to know theres other X reg's out there. Have to be honest its not my workshop (wish it was) friend of a friend did the body work. But yes good spot thats an Austin Healey and yes an e30 M3, amongst others there is an Audi Quatto in there which will be built as a works replica of Mikolas car, also a TVR Cerbera which im told was the first one to hit the road to be refurbed, also an AC Cobra replica in one the pics has now been fully rebuilt. Oh and also a Volvo P1800 Which will be mint when finished.

New user Posts: 13 | Good question, I think it will be an A Series with a 7 port head initially. Though I have bought a second subframe with a mind to modify it for a bike engine further down the road.

Northampton's Finest Posts: 1031 Location: Northampton | Love this build/refurb! Great work mate! Subscribed Will be keeping an eye on this for sure, hoping to start something similar as soon as I find a suitable shell. Keep up the good work and pics. Also, have you got any photos of how you're mounting the front coil overs? Ben

New user Posts: 13 | The coilover situation is exactly where im upto now. My day job is precision CNC machining. My intention is to machine brackets to bolt onto the rear swing arm to take the bottom of the rear coilover so I will definitely put pictures up of those. With the front, my initial feeling is that I will need to machine some brackets aswell to step over the top of the coilover. Again I will post pictures.
