Apologies to start with I normally post on tm realised I didn't have a topic here so copying and pasting my updates lol

I bought this after becoming single again, I have always liked the shape of the tro's and it came up for sale on here.
So my friend and I travelled down to kent to pick it up, it was just what I wanted somethingkto abuse and tinker with, on the journey home I noticed a huge amount of white smoke out of the exhaust while stationary, I did not notice this when I test drove it.

Anyway once home the strip down and modifications began. This is how it looked when I got it... (pics to follow as I'm using my phone atm)

.

Plans at the moment are keep the engine how it is minus getting a decent exhaust on it as it has a gti system and its killing it just a little. The main thing is weight, its going on an epic diet as its pritty much free just takes some time I will get more pics up asap as I continue my journey with it..

I give up on trying to upload atm i will do it tomorrow when im on the pc this is tsking far to long on my phone haha

Then the start of sorting out the white smoke issues...

Old very tired rad

Fan off

The old head was fubar, it had cracks all over it ah well new head!

engine bay before a new lease of life
The start of the front bumper, the plan was to allow more air in to where its needed.

Where the name came from, Ghetto Fab!

The start of the cam cover, i wanted something a little different

Wheels with new tires ready to hit the road again

Back on the road for its first outing, it ran sweet as a nut, strait to shell for some Vpower nitro+

That's it for the moment but i will update more pics as the build continues, just need to get it home as the parts are on order ready to be fitted .

future plans are a lot less weight, a decent exhaust system (zr160 6bolt manifold to a sprintex system) and a few little cosmetic mods but not how you may imagine

And the dash is back in!

Not sure on the exact weight loss but it was alot more than I thought it would be, still need to do a few places but will leave that for another time .
In total today I have saved about 6-7kg from sound deadaning, holey dash, taking off the gti spoiler.

Car got collected yesterday, had to use extra ramps to get it on as the front was far to low.

The old rear spoiler, now been removed to save weight, they are quite heavy

Dash out ready for something abit different, after looking at andy and johns cut down dash on the upside down skip, I liked it but its been done quite a few times before (after searching around) so I came up with this instead

Removed the rear seat catch holeders, this alone saved 750grams plus bolts so around 1kg with everything

Still alot more to do , will be keeping me busy for a while

Another little update

Finished off behind the numberplate for now, it will be modified more once I get a new plate.

Set about taking weight out of the boot as well, ideally I would like a fg one but none are for sale at a good price curently. So this is the start, cutting the inner pannel abit, and made a few holes on this inner pannel as well. I have removed enough weight to only need one boot strut

Removed the rear end sound deadaning, I had forgotten how much this stuff weighs, still a little residue but it got to hot to continue working in the car.

And left to sit pritty in the sun

Cut the spare wheel well out and replace with like a bath tub plate thing like what was done on the a-series forsale a few weeks back. Could also cut inner rear quarter bits out as well. 13's will be lighter, lightweight buckets, outer parts of doors cut out, fg wings and bonnet.

This is a very budget build, what I have done to the dash so far has halfed the weight of the skin. It was only a quick one as I will be cutting it back andmremoving alot more in august, cutting and removal of ducts ect will leave foot and screen heating nothing else. Oh and the addition of cup holders

Perspex windows will be made, a new exhaust system and a few other bits and bobs. If some fg parts come up cheap enough I mah get them but as it is the boot only requires one strut to stay up and I havent even got plastic windows in yet.

Wheels are staying 14's due to if I go 13" ill only run r888/a048's which is to expencive.

It is , I am looking forward to giving it hell again soon, finish work and straight to it getting some more weight out and draining the coolant, parts should all be with me by the weekend hopefully .

Have also modded the throttle body, inlet manifold and exhaust manifold and system (will be side exit by friday).

Also not to everyones taste but I will be give the paintwork the full patina effect. I have always liked it and thought this project suits it, also will be fitting the rear diffuser (still need to finish) and new rad ducting.

A bit of an update (no pictures yet), engine has been striped, new uprated oil rail (cheap ebay one, same as a friends one he paid £120 for down to where it was made!), fixed stripped exhaust stud with a helicoil, cleaned up the sump and removed debris from a Peugeot dipstick (the person I bought this off or who made it was a fucking tool) repaied some dodgy wiring and built back up in 3h 40m with no air tools so I am a very happy chappy.

Next on the list of things to do is new clutch, mot, finish body work (patina) put the dash back in (completely changed it much much much lighter now) and burn some rubber

A bit of an update, having a few issues with my exhaust set-up being rather low, I have yet to get to the mot station and it has been torn off 5 times so far , new exhaust parts arrive on Wednesday.

For Xmas I treated myself to some bucket seats, quick release steering wheel boss and a few other trinkets. hopefully will be MOT'd again next week.

Haven't had much chance to work on Marmite at all lately but keeping on with it

Haven't updated in a while I have been so busy with work, fixing my daily (both front coil springs snapped) so decided to drop it 40mm (what a difference it made to the handling).

Anyways the r100 failed the mot on noise (not enough silencers), both rear radius arms bushes worn, front lower ball joint covers perished. Rust wise it passed with flying colours, there are a few small patches on the passanger rear arch but body is perfect.

The tro will be under going some more weight saving and the new exhaust it a chopped down ally r6 exhaust so rather light!, this should help the noise problem.

I need to get some harness to go with the new bucket seats (yet to make the mounts yet) and sort out the leaks (boot rubber, heater inlet and sunroof (being replaced with a carbon blank)
