My best friend's Fiesta that I maintain. Probably not the best car to post on here, as these were the Metro's biggest rival imo. But I think these are lovely and just like the metro, are a dying breed.

I see a mint condition C plate regular and the guys still running it carbed. Although he's zetecing it soon.

And i've seen one today in my area thats rough on the F plate with both headlights smashed and a dodgy guy ragging it around.

Had a 1.4 sport couple of years ago on webbers, used to go well

That fezzer looks nice. I like both the mk1s and mk2s. I don't often see them down here really. Odd xr2 and that's about all

Is that completely standard? Looks mint

This is my long term project.

It is completely standard. Never had any welding. Only done around 20,000 miles. Will be servicing the brakes next. But the plan is to fit xr2 suspension and brakes while I am down there. He has picked up a set of the same mk3 xr2 alloys as fitted to yours and wants them fitting but I don't think it will suit his fiesta, but each to their own I guess. That is one nice Mk1 you have there, Interesting colour scheme Please keep the arches black, sets it off nicely. What engine are you running?

Edit - Isn't that the escort mexico green?

20k that explains why its so mint lol, I like that one a lot lol. Is he keeping the motor standard? I'm not sure those wheels will suit so well either, mines on those wheels because it was the only Ford fitment wheels I had loafing lol. I'm going to run the allycats as in my last pic. , its kawasaki green, a little bright lol, going to cage and bucket seat it up. No engine in it at the mo, I need a mk2 drivers side drive shaft, ( the long one price one) , but infront of it ready to go in is a st170 block. On gsxr throttle bodies and a rebuilt rs turbo gearbox with LSD. It's on a major go slow at the mo as I need to buy a evil for it lol.

Sounds good, Should roll along rather nicely He has imo, wisely decided to keep this particular example as standard as possible (aside from the mk3 alloys), plus there is not really much it seems Modification-wise for the 1.4 (just me?) Seems for the money it is cheaper fitting a 1.6. Most people just stick the 1.6 in which we were considering but as said, this one we think is too good to start dropping engines in. I am considering fitting an xr2 carb though. He is planning on buying a rolling shell or a basic pushrod mk2 and dropping a 1.6 in that though, Someday

Strange, recently I have started noticing a hell of a lot of these, especially more so than a year os so ago, but that could be down to me looking out for 90s cars more. NOW, when was the last time you saw one of these:

or a 80s Rover 213/ 216?

Ahhhh! Me and two others are considering buying one of these as a project!!! There is a white one near me. My dad had one, C reg and scrapped it in 2002

I see plenty of 213's around here.

Never see them now! I'd say most must be in the hands of enthusiasts?
Saw a mint Escort RS turbo the other day in Walsall however but when was the last time you saw a cooking model Sierra, Rover 213/mk1 800 or Citroen BX?

Is the 1.4 a cvh engine? The 1.6 cvh would go pretty quick in that, I'm not really sure what you can do to the 1400. It's such a tidy example tho you'd prob be best keeping it standard lol.

Yea I'm hoping to squeeze some serious ponys out of it lol.

And I'm afraid no dry humping, you might damage the paint, w4nking at a distance only

Some are, but I do see a few in the hands of chavs that tear around in them which is a shame.

Yes it is a 1.4 cvh. To be fair it is nippy and is surprisingly relaxed on the motorway. It will be standard, aside from the alloys. He is also not fitting the spotlights that everyone seems to do.  As said we are thinking someday about having a project mk2 and fitting a rs turbo cvh into that. Mk2 xr2's are going for silly money now...
