Hi, I'm just starting this thread for my mate, as he takes ages to do stuff and otherwise won't do it. aha. lol

He bought a 1990 Rover Metro GTa about 3 weeks ago now and on the evening driving it I told him about someone I knew selling bits we then went a bought a new interior and alloys for it! For that reason we have no photos of it wearing it wide steelies and GTa wheel trims.

We put the black MPi wheels on only to find the 185/ 60s rubbing on the rear [55s on front] and so removed them after about a week. It now has my spare silver 6 spoke wheels on whilst he has some tyres swapped over and then refurbing the black MPis.

It also has Rover 100 dash mate, rear lights, Rover 25 rear view mirror [til he gets a MGF one], AX console & silver wrapped dash wood panel.

Anyways, couple of days after purchase:

Rover coupe front seats with custom rear bench retrim:

More recent with my wheels on and after a wash polish etc...

Not bad.

Could do with the seats swapping over to the correct sides unless he plays with the back rest adjustment more than tilting them to get in the back

Guy we bought them from said they had to go that way round because they rub or something?

Waiting to get MOT'd;

Nope, no problem with them fitting the correct way if anything you will notice that the side base cushion will touch the
door pockets but this isn't a problem as it only just touches.

It's been all assessed by insurance people and is only an economic write off, not structural or anything. We have sourced the correct panels in various places and just waiting for the insurance money to come through to purchase the panels and get them sprayed up and welded etc... We have sourced an identical boot complete with badges and everything which is inside the car in the most recent pic.

The time off the road and with a courtesy car has given us time to complete other jobs which is handy, but obviously would have preferred not to of happened. :/

Last things we have done on the car is we removed the front bumper and put the car on axle stands since it's off the road ATM. We fitted the splitter better and it's much more flush now. Whilst the bumper was off I hamerited the front of the car and slam
Panel etc...

We have also fitted front red seatbelts and they were cleaned up. Came up really good. Also fitted a gas strut, it came from a Rover 800 bonnet. We used the ball point things from a metro boot. 1 we screwed into the bonnet hinge bolt and other into a bolt
Coming out of the battery tray. Pics.

Hello mate,

Back end is getting there, got new boot identical to the original one with all the same badges and colour , also got rear bumper. Just waiting for the money of the insurence. They are taking years. Got a new rear end lined up but have not got the money at the moment. Rear end was pretty pushed in but luckily didn't crease the floor
