Hi all, long time lurker here. I've seen that a metro concept car is being auctioned soon, I've been trying to post it on this forum for a while but couldn't make an account for some reason and then forgot all about it. There's an article below with a link to the auction if anyone is interested:

I think it would be nice to see it go to an enthusiast rather than an uncertain fate if no-one bids.I am not affiliated with the sellers in anyway, I just want to see a piece of British motoring history find a good home (and maybe a build thread). Stored in a museum for over 20 years though I bet there isn't any rust , I dare someone to reshell their rusted out GTi with this

And now it is on ebay for £9,350.00 along with several other cars from the auction. According to the comments section here:
http://www.aronline.co.uk/blogs/concepts/concepts-and-prototypes/news-metro-scout-one-off-for-sale-at-auction/#comment-597313
it sold for £3,600 plus 10% commission plus 20% VAT. So only buy it if you want to be ripped off. It really annoys me seeing people doing no work just flipping the car for twice what they paid, so now anyone who could have had the car at the auction has to pay for the pleasure of buying it off these characters. I notice it is "for resteration" (their words, not mine) so it isn't like they've registered it or even put it through an MOT! Please show this to anyone who is thinking about buying the scout- or any car off them for that matter. That being said if you tell them you know how much they paid for it and try to get a major discount it might be worth saving, still it's unlikely that they would care... Maybe we should all ask them if they would take £3,600 for it

There is allot of speculation around in classic car circles.
In some ways its good for owners and restorers but anything that nets dodgy dealers a profit I'm against

This lad obviously hadn't got a clue what he was buying and it does not mention any molds for the car which were with it at the sale will see Wat the guy says but it's not worth half what he is asking as it's not driveable as there are no subframes so essentially it's a ten grand coffee table.

That's what I thought but that's what the auction place told my dad when he enquired about it and there is also a lot of structural fiberglass apparently.

I really like it, its about as quirky as a chocolate tea set and about as much use but it looks fantastic

It's also registered and has been driven 1200 miles so how can it have no subframes?
