Bought this today

http://s805.photobucket.com/albums/yy337/Rusty_mini/Unknown/16v%20Mini/

Thought i'd start a journal, got a 160vvc from itsonlyme today for a bargain price. Going to use the R65U chocolate box and a flip front

Should be good for sub 14's on the 1/4 mile and saving a rare shell, sort of

Keeping the turbo just got bored with nothing to do. Vvc mini came up at right price and panel beating friend is quiet so got a good deal on the body work.

May turbo the mini but as with the metro you can have too much power

I'm liking this, I've never built a vvc mini, but doing a 1400 k series one for a daily drive for a mate and done a red top one for my Sunday drive, minis go flippin well with anything over 120bhp

Picked it up today, will be stripping it this week and seeing whats what. Basically it will need a lot of welding, but all the bits are there and my mate Cheeky Scott (who sprayed my metro and did the 13.99 at santa pod) is mini mad and will do the body work / spraying

Dont think its an original colour its like a shit green, we are thinking it was originally black but we will see

Has a metro loom for the engine and a metro fuse box and interior loom with metro clocks

Looks like this on the back of a truck

There is also talk of junking the 160vvc, we have an ascot for this, and putting a 1.8 turbo in with an emerald and speak with Matt P about a map.....

I got offered this a few months back on a forum, was very tempting!!

Are you keeping those wheels though? Metro PCD wheels on a Mini just look wrong in every way, shape and form to me.

will see on the turbo and car has a budget £2500 and £1200 spent already

had a good look today and it was originally denim blue so will be sprayed this colour and try to make it look as std as possible

Engine went on a block today after collecting it from Tony, itsonlyme, with vvc loom from my metro, 5as, ecu, matched fobs, mgf calipers and carriers, mgf shafts (for my metro for santa pod) its the best magic shed in the south !

Had a look at the spares, car has an SPI tank and all the panels needed for welding 2 sets of gt clocks pedal box and grills.....bargain !

because the engine in the picture is not a mems3 160, its a mems2J 143 model, simples

Think you need some wide arch to cover those rims, Im sure I still have a set of sports pack archs in the garage, somewhere lol
