The battery on my R100 is flat. I'm not sure if it's the battery or the alternator, but I can't begin to figure that out until I sort out the newest problem.

Overnight the battery went completely flat and now the immobiliser looks screwed.

When I connect the jump leads, the immobiliser kicks in and the led starts to flash. The fob wont disarm it at all. It's a 5AS fob and I've tried pressing the lock button 8 times followed by the unlock, but still nothing.

Any ideas on how to kick it into action again so I can start to figure out whether it's the battery or the alternator?

Thanks

Jon

Not certain but i think you have to close the door, lock the car....wait.....unlock the car, open the door and do the 8 times thing again, then just repeatedly press unlock..?

U checked fob batteries?

Success!

remotekey's instructions worked. Here they are for future reference for people.

If your key fob has just stopped working try this:

Unlock your vehicle with the key in the drivers door lock.
Press the right hand button on the key fob 4 to 8 times.
If the above fails try this:

Open the key fob
Remove the battery
Press and hold the right button down for 10 seconds, and the same with the left button.
Refit the battery or a new battery.
Unlock the vehicle with the key in the drivers door lock.
Press the right hand button on the key fob slowly 4 to 8 times.
Land Rover single button key fobs, press the key fob slowly 3 times next to the vehicle.

Cheers for your replies.
