Spent the day doing a gearbox change today . I now have a close ratio, rebuilt, Lsd'd box in, so i should be able to go round corners a bit faster now .

Cheers . Its feels loads better with the brm box in and the ratio's with the equivilent of 15's on feel about perfect for it. Gearbox is a fraction noisier that i had thought, but i think that is down to the steel caged bearings and it sounds quite racey, do the type B's make a bit of noise when working also? As that may account to a bit of the noise. Ive only driven with a quaife ATB lsd diff before and you can really hear them kick in and they make a very odd noise. Has to be said the quaife diffs do feel a bit better than the type B but bang for buck pretty damn good, so very happy. As far as areo goes i am making a nice front undertray atm (mainly to keep stones out of my open belts) So i can probs laminate another one out of the mold for you as its a shame to make a mold to use once. It should help areo a lot and stop any front end lift. The other thing i am doing is making another new front bumper, as i don't like the current one's styling and neither do many other people tbf and although the wide mouth looks good but works too well as you put your foot down and the temp gauge hits rock bottom. So the plan is (hopefully with the help of people on here, as i would like to sell a few to make the work more cost effective) is to make one with a similar wide mouth as i like it, but with a areo baffle made out of thin lexan blocking it so people can hole saw the required amount of holes for cooling, (i need very few which will make it more areodynamic) and i want to extend the air solts to the wheels down a very thin winged splitter and lose the slots underneath the rad mouth and give them a radius to act as a front wing. So all in all it should give better down force and be a smaller surface area and it should look better and work better than the current one (which does seem to work pretty good looking at the water spray patterns that form on it).

What metal is there, where the mounting clips are & mounting pegs itself, the card as it sounds awesome! lol

Fixed windows & no door pull I'm guessing, as they'll have nothing to mount to..

A few things confuse me about your tro, I love the aspect of it being light but why havent you 1- got an enclosed and clean air filter, 2- gor a roll cage with door bars while using composit doors (cant see one in the pics) 3- got light weight wheels and finally 4- I have forgotten . I do actually like this minus the rear wheels and rear arches.

Its a work in progress. Cheers for the comments, i like the honesty tbh and i want it to progress in the right direction, so peoples opinions are important to me. I personally don't like the front bumper or the rear wheels or front wheels either if i am honest, but i am getting the set up and handling totally sorted first before i order the wheels as if i feel it could go round corners faster, i may get some wider white compomotive mo's and slightly wide arch the front end as well and make a full flip grp front end when i have the front end looking better and lose more weight in the process. The cage does have door bars and is tied into the shell in a lot of places maybe i should have taken some more pics of it. The rear is wide arched for the increased track width of the rear beam as it gives the car a much better aspect ratio. The air filter is crap i couldn't agree more but it is all on the to do list over the winter.

I will go out this afto and take some pics of the mechanisms of the door card if your interested. It uses a cable to open the door that goes from the standard latch mech which is adjustable (the cable) round a roller mounted on the back of an ali door card, which has an aftermarket handle fitted to close the door. The idea was taken from the way a stratos door works and was the lightest and cheapest way i could come up with, although a carbon door card would be nice.

No worries. Are you planning on doing a similar thing with your steel doors? As the best thing to take out first is the stupidly heavy crash protection bar and i bet you could get the standard steel doors down to a pretty small weight with a bit of chopping.

Cheers...I went for basic and functional with it I really should find time to get it cleaned to get all of the wet sanding residue out, then it will look a bit better.

I have been thinking of doing a blown diffused but this will onky really help at high speed and high revs, the diffuser alone will make alot of difference, my exhaust is an ashley 2" system (quiet one) with no rear silencer and a pokey tip to angle it to the floor atm saved 1.9kg in weight

Yea cheers that was kind of my idea as well. Save a bit of weight with a short, straight exhaust and yea i know about the blown diffuser flaws, but as it stands it will probs work out the easiest solution for a light, and nice flowing exhaust. (i hope any way). It will have a totally flat undertray under the exhaust that meets the diffuser. So i think it exiting at the start of the diffuser will be the easiest and most simple solution for me .

I was under the impression that the blown diffuser helped the cars ground effect at lower speeds by using an egr system. my understanding is that it is there increase the ground effect by recerculating exhaust gas therefore increasing the exhaust volume at lower throttle openings this is how it generates the extra ground effect, at high speeds the airflowing under the car will be far grater than the volume of air exiting the exhaust, what you will be gaining is the extra scavanging effect crated by puting the exhaust into a low pressure area

Yea you are spot on bruce . It is of the early type of blown diffuser basically in my case just for ease of having somewhere for the exhaust to exit. To do it properly with a n/a engine you would need the recirculation system.

Really liking this project,
I was with Dan a few weeks ago when we colelcted the TF gear linkage.

If your taking this on some hill climbs soon let me know as i liked to see it in action and maybe take mine on track too!
