Right, you probably all remember Chrisje, who bought a Metro but never really done much with it. Anyway, I'm looking into tuning his car up for a bit of a track weapon, and take to Santa Pod with some mates to show them up and what I would like to find out is what is the actual difference between the different VVC engines? Looking around theres the 135BHP version and theres some coming standard at 160BHP, are these different engines? or is the 160 just the 135 tuned up?

What is needed for the conversion? (an engine and ECU obviously)

Also, trying to find aftermarket parts, will the parts labelled as "K-Series kit" fit the VVC or just the non-VVC? Because if I get this new job I'm applying for, should be able to chuck a good bit of cash into it and get it throttle-bodied

At the moment though I'm not entirely sure it's gonna happen, just looking into the work required and weighing up pros and cons. Shouldn't be too expensive.....well, compared to making something like a Ford Escort just as fast. Zetec Turbo is like 5K done properly

The search function is your friend here. Quite a few of these have been done recently, you'll find everything that you need.

Good luck with the job.

ok, the 135 engine is not a vvc, it is a solid cammed 1800, the 2 vvcs are 143 and 160, the only real difference is the mapping on the ecu's the 160's are only found in the newer cars zr 160's and mgf tf160,and use mems 3 engine management, the 143 are found in 200vi's coupes, and older mgfs
