my main beam stopped workin a while back turned out that the wire had come away from the switch gear,

might just be a case of re-soldering the wire back on mate

hope that helps!

steering sounds like the tracking is out. Take it to a fast fit centre and they will line it up for about £20.

Lights are either a connection behind the switch which is easy to look for with a digital multimeter (DMM). Worth the £10 to get a DMM from Maplins if you haven't already and can be used in loads of places around the home and car.
Or a dry joint in the fusebox which will be more expensive if you take it to an auto electrician.

Do your dash lights come on when you turn the lights on?
