Just got my Poorboys wheel sealant so will be applying plenty of coats to the wheels before they get fitted (which will be very soon!)

More updates

Made sure I put plenty of sealant on the alloys before getting em fitted... 4 coats on the front, another 4 on the back on 4 wheels meant 32 lots of buffing and polishing but it'll be worth it to keep em looking mint! New wheels with new centre caps on new tyres does look mint, well worth the money

Front two fitted on the new Yokie Dokies, makes the wheels look bigger in the arches as the tyres seem to be about 3-4mm bigger probably due to em being new...

Finally got round to spraying the mirrors the right colour

Started rubbing the lacquer down on one today but need more cloths to do G3 \ G10 to get em shined up and on the car.

Finished off the re-wiring last week and also put some soundproofing in the wheel wheel area, not gone completely round the rear inner arches yet until I've done the doors and see how much there is left...

Does add quite a bit of weight but my car has never been quick so this won't make a great deal of difference! Did reduce noise from the back quite noticeably though so worth doing.

Replaced the GTa doorcards with GTi ones to get the darker vinyl, matches the rest better now. Also put proper black electric window switch surrounds instead of resprayed grey ones...

Found this at the scrappy today, not seen a rubber seal for the parcel shelf before but might stop a few more rattles so fitted it...

Also decided to fit rear headrests once I find a kit to mount them with, pics are just a rough idea for now...

Might go back to a grey dash with leather inserts to get through the shows this year then either add a few more coats to the black dash and let it harden properly this time or get a leather trimmed one done in the meantime.

Still to do...

- front bumper, needs respraying and foglights mounted in
- front splitter, to go with the above, probably a Laguna one
- lowering (I know!)
- new front comps
- centre console (once I've put the footwell lighting and ciggy lighters in)

Got all the new wheels fitted now, think the shinny-ness is worth the monies it cost for the wheels \ tyres \ centre caps. Also finished spraying the TF mirrors... prob the best job I've done with cans so far, very pleased with em

Definitely needs...

- Laguna splitter
- fogs mounted in bumper
- lowering at the back

If I can get that sorted I think that will be the exterior pretty much finished

Even the spare wheel is a mint one now lol...

Haha yup only 3 years overdue on that front

Need ideas on the dash as I need it to be black but can't be doing with anything that fades or chips over time (the stuff I used was meant to soak into the plastic but it seems to rub off over time) so need to try something else...

- leather retrim... best route but need to find someone to do it... also very pricey
- bumper blacker like the racing tro on here... is it still holding up after a few months of use?
- some other stuff I saw used on a 6R4 rep on eBay... nitromors or something along those lines?

Bumper and a bit of tidying up on some of the colour coded bits next

Went to Birmingham with David (111SLi) to visit the Pandy man today and picked up some goodies... in the case of the bumper something I've been after for years now

In Pandy's garden before being loaded up and off to its new home...

A bumper makes a nice hat for on the way home

Quick pic of the two tros together

From here on in its time for Project Pride

Another list to give me the kick up the backside I need to actually get stuff done

Exterior

- buy new lights to fit in bumper
- respray foglight bumper and fit with black mesh
- tidy up grille mesh (needs another couple of coats of matt black paint)
- respray petrol cap ring and bonnet vents at the same time
- fit splitter to front bumper (still 50:50 on that one)
- fit the numberplates I bought last year (!)
- finishing touch for silver rub strip area (vinyl text)
- fit stainless steel shiny bits to engine bay and clean it (for the first time ever haha)

Interior

- fit gyro and airbag loom to steering wheel
- do the SRS LED mod to run it back to a second (well third in my case) alarm LED and relabel
- fit steering wheel controls and Alpine adapter to get that up and running
- swap dash (again) back to grey for now so I can either repaint the existing black dash or get leather retrim done (dunno where lol)
- tidy up cabling so stereo fits in neatly (tight squeeze atm with so much additional wiring)
- retrim spare wood inserts in leather
- finish LED lighting for buttons and dash items
- fit retro blinky LED voltmeter into the right hand insert
- fit black parcel shelf supports
- fit LED underlighting to shelf supports
- retrim seat trim bars in black material (looking a bit scratched and tired now)
- rear boot install trimmed in OEM carpet
- custom doorcards with black Silverstone material and leather (longshot but gonna try)
- find \ make blanks to fit window winder holes
- rear headrests
- Alpine CD changer and Bluetooth module (if I get bored lol)

Suspension

- 10mm rear drop (finally)
- front and rear ARBs with polybush

Sorted a few bits out the other day, gyro now fitted to the steering wheel but waiting until the dash comes out before fitting the stalk controls as it needs the HU out and controller box placing somwhere... that'll be fun squeezing more wires into the (tiny) stereo gap

Stuff from Rimmer Bros arrived, trying to be sensible and only put it on once the bumper has been sprayed

One of the chrome door handles was really pitted so saw a NOS one on eBay... would be rude not to... can I get a SHINNY?

Today was the end of an era...

Those foglights have been the signature "look" of this car since December 2004...

Would take something special for me to replace em but I think Pandy's foglight bumper will look a bit smoother and also makes the car look a touch wider being that the lights will set at the edges of the bumper rather than in the middle. There's also the small problem of the fogs not working atm as the relay that came with the Ring fitting kit appears to have blown already, only giving out 0.3v when switched. Looking at how the lights are wired in this might have something to do with it...

For MOT the fogs are coming out until the new bumper has been sprayed, was very glad that it's possible to get at the bumper bolts out without taking wheels \ arch liners off

Couldn't resist a quick test fitting of the new bumper though

All done for now, looking a bit bare at the front though...

Went to Kent yesterday for an opportunistic scrappy raid, didn't expect to get much but had a nice surprise in store

First yard got some Rover engine bay connectors to use with the new driving lights (better than spade terminals any day). Then spotted some Frogs and remember that the splitter from them looks good on a tro so set about removing it with the blunt end of a file where it was stapled to the bumper... brute force does the job well in these cases! Cleaned it up today then will get it to fit before bumper goes in for spraying, I remember a guy on here had one (BenGTA?) said it fitted fairly easily so fingers crossed there.

Went onto another breakers afterwards in case they had any tros about (none at the first place) and found this...

Sod's law after getting a splitter I then find one already cut and fitted on an R100 bumper
(if anyone wants parts it's still got red seat belts, 2 spoilers and the splitter left on it)

Is it a previous member's car I wonder as it had R100 GTa seats, two spoilers and a dash in the back, a can of high temperature paint and for sale signs saying "car + spares £500"... I'm guessing it didn't sell and went for scrap.

Had a look at the dash and it was mint (the presence of the spare dash in the back suggests it had been swapped at some point?

A short while later the dash was in the back of my ZR along with this little added bonus...

Currently trimming up dash inserts and a few other odds and ends with spare leather I've got that matches the seats so should end up with a standard grey dash but darkened with the grey leather parts... best of both worlds I think.

Arrangements are also in progress to get the bumper sprayed up and lights fitted then will take a day or so to have the dash fitted as well as associated jobs (tidy up HU wiring, fit stalk controls etc)

Updated list, still on course for PoL but it's tight...

Exterior

- buy new lights to fit in bumper
- respray foglight bumper and fit with black mesh
- tidy up grille mesh (needs another couple of coats of matt black paint)
- respray petrol cap ring and bonnet vents
- Frog splitter for front bumper
- 3D style numerplates
- finishing touch for silver rub strip area (vinyl text)
- fit stainless steel shiny bits to engine bay and clean it (for the first time ever haha)

Interior

- fit gyro to steering wheel
- swap dash (again) back to mint grey one with leather trimmed inserts
- fit steering wheel controls and Alpine adapter to get that up and running
- tidy up cabling so stereo fits in neatly (tight squeeze atm with so much additional wiring)
- retrim spare wood inserts in leather
- finish LED lighting for buttons and dash items
- fit retro blinky LED voltmeter into centre console
- fit footwell lighting into centre console
- fit black parcel shelf supports
- fit LED underlighting to shelf supports
- retrim seat trim bars in black material (looking a bit scratched and tired now)
- rear boot install trimmed in OEM carpet
- custom doorcards with black Silverstone material and leather (longshot but gonna try)
- find \ make blanks to fit window winder holes
- rear headrests

Suspension

- 10mm rear drop (finally)
- front and rear ARBs with polybush
