Is the red carpet standard fit in any mini's? the orange one just has a standard 998 in at the minuite but i am in the process of building a 1275 for it with a few little tweeks +20 oversize pistons, lightend flywheel, skimmed head and ported and polished, twin 1 1/2 su's, and mabye some more bits if i see anything good at the mini show in january. My race car is also 998 but it has +40 oversize pistons lightened con rods, lightened crank and flywheel, skimmed head and block, 3 angles vavles and seats, k&n, there are other things but they are the main bit. obviously there are rules to build the car to so you cant do certain things. the main thing is that everthing is totally stripped out and the car weight about 400kg wich is nothing considering the engine takes up most of that weight haha

Expert Posts: 2907 Location: a pub in yorkshire | i got the red carpet and half leathers out of a cooper spi but yes they will fit in any model mini with the exception of mk1s due to the 'magic wand' style gear lever coming out of the bulkhead at the front and a floor start button

Expert Posts: 1228 | good man, it's not another Cooper replica. Keep it up Like Minis, just don't like the Mini scene in general. Has got all too cliched (is that spelt right?) for me now, hence the Metros. Metros are where Minis were 10 years ago - still cheap enough to be enjoyable and the scene is open to everyone whatever their bank balance. The grassroots Mini fans are fast getting replaced by people with money who just have minis as toys, the chances of anyone winning a show, or having a very quick car out on the track that has been built at home are slim now.
