New user Posts: 2 | There used to be a lot of company's doing this years ago when PAS wasn't so common, saw it a lot on disable adapted cars. They used to keep the standard rack and just add a hydraulic ram to give the assistance, not sure if this is the case with yours but a possibility.

I wish I had too much money but thats not the case, I have been looking for around four years for an answer to power steering installation, this was a last resort, I was not happy with the engineering detail of this conversion, its worked well for several years so I presume that its okay, I will continue looking unless somebody on here can show me a good tidy conversion unnamed (5) by itstony2012, on Flickr unnamed (3) by itstony2012, on Flickr unnamed (2) by itstony2012, on Flickr unnamed (1) by itstony2012, on Flickr unnamed by itstony2012, on Flickr I am fairly sure that this is a Rover 25 rack, it was driven by a Saxo electric PAS pump, it worked well and felt much more positive and quicker than a Metro rack, steering arms from the rack had been shortened and threaded for the reduced width of the car, I was put off of this by the amount of cutting and welding to the subframe, for 2k I would of expected something that was very tidy, I sold the car for what I paid for it so it was never a £650 look under the bonnet, hopefully somebody will be able to produce PAS one day, I will continue looking, when my KV6 is ready to run I will need it

Expert Posts: 2568 Location: Up in the lakes | Have you thought about adapting an mgf steering column to get pas? Just out of interest why do you want pas on a tro? I dont see the point in it. The feedback through the steering wheel is awesome and its not exactly heavy with a yellow band rack.

Regular Posts: 112 Location: Hamburg, Germany | itsonlyme - 22/12/2013 2:46 AM does it have to be hydraulic? or would electric like MGF EPAS work for you? i have one out of a Opel Corsa, like the MGF one made by Mitsubishi, but can be disassembled to nearly a bare driving unit so it can be fitted to a lot of steering columnshopefully somebody will be able to produce PAS one day, I will continue looking, when my KV6 is ready to run I will need it

Expert Posts: 4458 Location: Jelling, Denmark | always interesting to see conversions and things like this. thanks for sharing the photos. I do agree with you about the cutting and welding part, it doesn't look as tidy as I would have expected.
