C4 gearbox is good in 2nd in the dry and with good tyres but slightest bit of wet then 4th needs abit of feathering on the throttle, got a non vvc mgf box to go in over xmas break so should be abit more controllable, these vids make mine look quite slow compared to seans

On about that mg tf subframe in the back for the wishbone and disks, any one see any down fall with it, if I do Sean you and Brenda can buy the shocks £25 per 1 shock

As you went into that corner you just got a touch of lift of overseer, but as you stayed backed out of it then that's why the backend overtook fully. Probably cold rears too but lower profile makes them more likely to break away in those situations. 888s have better feel when slightly damp over the A048s imo.

Problem that I can see with using the TF frame in the back is the track being too wide, and the fact you can't fit 13's over the rear hubs due to the lower suspension pick up points. Metro's don't really suffer with rear end grip when set up well, stiff antiroll bar and good mounts is the way forward. Shocks are a good upgrade.

After this trackday I have assumed im just a bad driver

Im running shocks on the back, but with standard hydrocans and arb, with it like this it feels skittish and like it just wants to spin around at every chance it can

Yea was thinking about the track of it, but I'm sure me or Sean could knock up some dumpy wishbones if needs be, running 14s wouldent be a problem as you will be able to run 14 semi slicks with the radius arms gone, should get 185 55 14 semi slicks with about 0-3 mm ground off the radius arm anyway, As they are 8mm ish overall bigger then 185 60 13s (4mm eitherside)

Adi makes a very good point

I had no handling issues with the metro other than oversteer on full throttle helped by the lsd

It went fine on hydro spastic and never ever lost rear end grip

Sean's twin arb was perfect

Yea I guess, what setting did you have your rear shocks on, I got mine on medium-stiff
I may need them on soft with 2 arbs

l would keep the rear subby as it is fit a secondary rear arb and new tyres, l would put your spin down to cold wet day on near worn out tyres.

Dont forget i did spin out too, just i done it quietly where no one could see me

I had gti cans ground down 8mm

375 psi and shocks set to soft with twin arb

All polybushed. Don't get me wrong it wasn't an f1 car but it did very well chasing an evo 6

...and put it down to in experience after your first track day. Old worn out tyres wouldnt have helped you there either. In a situation like that you need to learn to do the opposite to your instinct which is to get back on the power. Unfortunately youve made that even harder for yourself due to the amount of power that you have on command...great for your 1/4 miles but in learning to drive on track id be tempted to get a low boost map to allow you to make mistakes and learn track driving.

On my first trackday at Oulton Park i managed to grass track due to being on the far right handside of the track to take a fast right hander! Practice makes perfect, or better atleast!

Yup should have used the power to help it but it all happens to fast, I have a boost setting what gives 220bhp, im up for that trackday on the 15th march dylan, need to get mapped and turbo rebuilt between now and then, got a set of comps and will be getting some fresh semi slicks, so will try again then

Unlucky with the spin mate, glad you/the car is ok. Sounds like a bit of an animal to be fair, pure grin factor!

agree with adrian here, never enter a corner in a fwd car off the throttle enless you want oversteer.

as you say it all happened so fast... yours is a missle!

the best advice i have ever been given for track driving is "slow in fast out"
