Regular Posts: 105 | Hi I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this. I am collecting a crashed 54 plate Tf160 next week to upgrade my vvc f. I don't need the engine, so I am just enquiring is it worth anything or it easier to just weigh it in with the shell Many thanks Stephen

drive it like its hired | ideally you would run it up to temperature. See if the VVC mechs are rattly or not and see if it has any oil leaks. Service history and timing belt change info could all boost up value as well!

Master Parts Seller Posts: 2380 Location: Andover Hampshire | I do not agree with the valuations here unless its a known engine, I would be very happy to sell these for £200 without knowing anything about the engine, sold as seen and untested does not do it for me as a buyer, I am not being critical of the OP and wish you luck

Regular Posts: 105 | Hi guys I wasn't expecting any interest, but I've had a load of PM's. I'll get back to everybody later. I have bought the whole car as an accident damaged car, so the loom, ecu, gearbox is all there, but the engine and gearbox has been removed to put into a hgf 135, that never happened. Once I have the car in hand, I'll put a for sale thread up. Stephen

For peace of mind I turn them over by hand to check for correct reistance and compression noise and to check oil and coolant ways appear free from any signs of defect. Its not 100% but gives you a good idea.
