Well I keep putting off this, being a student, procrastination I have down to an art form so only really got the motivation to do this after a few people asking about it and me taking some pictures of the car recently.

Anyways, when I got the car it was a mostly standard Rover 100 Gta, 1.4 8v engine with just the suspension individualized and that was it, wheels were painted but standard GTa alloys and the interior was, standard GTa. Not the most uncomfortable of interiors but round corners didnt keep me in the seat. Brakes were standard non-vented and worked alright as long as I didnt jump on them or try and slow from any excess speeds quickly! Pictures say a thousand words so here it was, the night I got it:

At the services for some food next to my mates 200:

Once I got home, well his house which was round the corner from mine!

Then started with the mods, first was the splitter:

Then, half leather interior and GTi MPi alloys thanks to GTaddz:

Then that was how I used the car until sourcing a new engine, 1.4 16v MPi from tommib and then fitted it myself with the help from different friends and a bit metal bar! Not got any pics as the engine bay looks a state atm but went to a local business park recently and found a nice spot for some photos!

Thats it for now, comments are welcome as always and I will keep this updated to my progress with the car and doing anything else to it!

Tis very nice and clean!

Car is FAR from clean, been using it every day to goto uni down backroads in all weathers so the car is really dirty. Got some bits to fit to the car still, going to paint up some GTi rear spats which I have up in matte black and fit them as well as try and get round to sorting the suspention out as It needs lowering properly with the rods cutting instead of just the fluid let out. Atm its got 400 psi all round and the height isn't too bad imo, might see what the car handles like when I fit my ARB's before messing with the suspention tho.

Time for a quick update, fitted VVC inlet as old plastic inlet gasket was leaking and the VVC inlet was lying about(check the amazing colour-matching) plus got some new front ARB droplinks and bushes ready to go on when the weather clears. Thats about it really, not been able to do much thanks to how bloody cold it is here(no snow, just cold) and having a cold and doing uni work. Here is a quick picture of the new inlet plugged in and working;

Suppose I should update this slighty, not many pictures but there is a few!

Since last update, just been generally fixing bodges from previous owners and doing odd jobs which need doing! Had Lball and Pietaster over a few weeks ago to helicoil my engine as the threads were fooked in the head for the exhaust manifold. Fitted sportex mid-box and backbox and found a previous owner had fitted my old exhaust together with bathroom sealant instead of exhaust gaskets so I got rid of it all and put on new gaskets. Fixed my headlights as the plastic clips inside which hold the bulb in place had snapped and the angle my lights were at I was surprised I didnt dazzle any low flying aircraft...
Biggest change has to be the new wheels and tyres, no pics atm as the weather has been shit recently but I have a set of good condition MPi's in silver which I got inc rover badged center caps for a decent price. Tyres were knackered on them and found my current tyres had cracks around the inner tyre walls yet the outer walls and tread looked pratically new! Ended up getting four brand new Yoko a539 tyres in 185/60/13 profile because they were cheap and i am poor. Car sits a bit higher than it used to do sadly but does mean i can actually get a jack under it without having to drive onto blocks of wood...

Now for pictures, nothing exciting I'm afraid but we all like pictures!

My rideheight loaded up with camping stuff to goto the biggest paintball festival in europe:

(the girl is a mates missus, NOT mine)

Removed the black crap on the bulkhead and cleaned up the metal behind to give:

and

ooo shiny shiny

Thats pretty much it, undecided what else to do with it now all handling stuff has been done which I wanted to do(individ, arbs, decent tyres etc), tempted to see how much power I can get out of a 1.4 on a budget but wouldn't mind a vvc for ease of coversion etc. Shall just wait and see!

Well it wasn't exactly sitting high up before it got loaded but the last thing i need to sort on the car is the rods, need to remove them and make sure that they are the same length on each side as the car needs different pressures to sit level, another thing the previous owner forgot to mention....

I do fancy getting slightly smoked rear windows at some point as well as pressed plates from a mates company(legal ones) but its jobs which isn't important and can wait!

Well I have no idea then, just seems that the rods are all different legnths all round the car so it doesnt sit right :/

Who put the exhaust on the car then?
