This ones probably the best that shows the height now will be getting a higher profile tire 55 instead of 50 so arch will be filled a bit more and have a little bit of stretch

Where abouts did you mount your toe strap from? I need to put on on mine I just dont know where :-/

I really like the tro, I did prefer it when it was stripped out and different, but in the personalisation world my view doesn't matter

Where that cross bar bolts to mate I bolted it to that the drilled a hole and poked it through haha

I know but I got annoyed with all the ringing from stones and that and wanted a bit of luxury but the recaros treat me well. I'm gunna have a full cage still full interior getting a arm rest slide out cup holders the lot haha I've been stripped out and track look for about 3 years and got bored mate

Fair enough, I got a daily for that lol ^-^. I like the fact you did what you wanted with the multi colour engine bay ect.

I have found recently I like the more ground breaking styles people do. For example mk1-2 escorts, all the bloody same, either bubble arch or narrow arch, rs wheels or mini lights, engine is xflow/pinto/cossie its boring.

I do not admire being in your tro with no harnesses and a cage lol I like the look but it would scare me to much lol

Yea a lot is the same ATM with some builds

It's fine like the seats hold me in I can still take some corners at 55 and I don't budge. I've got a bucket and harness for track days but i pulled my back out at 16 and suffered ever since the bucket seat took its tool and ended up in pain every time I sat in it. But it's fine with the recaros.

Bad times, I have just ordered some cobra seats which I did a 200mile journey on the bump stops in, they were lush! Plus theu were dirt cheap lol.

I cant stand a high seating position, my old mini I was nearly on the floor! Loved it

I know what you mean ! I feel stupid sitting really high in a metro but my seats do feel quite low but then I'm only short at about 5ft 11" roughly .if I get another tro I'll go full track spec on it which I may be planning to do.

Just another little update as much hasn't been done later due to the fact it it's so bloody cold. Only fitted the rear wiper back on, the mg red carpet and gave it a good clean.
Over the past week I've had this really loud squeaking coming from the front passanger side whenever I turn or go over a bump so going to be starting the process of elimination with doing top ball joints and track rod ends thinking it could maybe be the steering rack also but will have to have a proper look on Friday. whilst the cars up going to to do the rear shoes and cylinders.

Heres a few pics of how the car looks for now but found out half of my Xmas present from the misses are car parts = win!!

Forgot to add these are what I'm looking at getting in the next couple of weeks or early January but they won't be going on until PoL as I don't want to ruin them

I know same spec as my wheels so I haven't got to do anything more which is a bonus I've decided on these as I think they will suit the car more as I was going to get jbw mamba wheels

I like a lot!...... Almost as much as the fact, you have somehow managed to train your misses to buy car parts! Impressed by this fact even more than i am by the car .

Damn she must know her stuff then, but yea it sounds like it mate. Always best to keep them on side and involved then you dont have to justify the spending .

Haha she didn't know anything about building cars until met her. I took her to a car meet and now she's hooked she bought herself a mk5 golf gti turbo and is debating air ride haha !

I still have to justify the spending but she can understand it more now. But half the time I don't tell her like when I go 1.8vvc I'm gunna just let her get in then scare the shit out of her

So managed to get some starmags second hand in good condition and after a polish up came out very nice had them fitted and on the car in under a hour of getting them . Started sticking a few things in the blaster at work ready for paint.
Now looking at buying my 1.8 early January and have it all done by the end of February

Quite a lot has happened since Christmas
Bought rear shoes, wheel cylinders, rear bearings, top ball joints, GTi track rod ends. Also bought got my 1.8 engine (solid cam) and radiator.
So on the lead up to this I've cleaned and painted the engine. Got cambelt waterpump filters and gaskets to fit. Change the wheel bearings on the rear as they where shot and could hear the grinding over the exhaust!!
Before all this though wanted to go over the car for rust etc and of course i found a fair bit so have booked it in for next weekend to get all welded up. Once back will all get undersealed, engine bay respray and a tidy up on the body work but until then here's some pics

Good stuff Conor, you could consider converting that engine to MEMS3 and getting the Z and F 120 remap...

Not really sure but as it's solid cam should find plenty of bits on scrap cars. Map I think about £220 from them and quite rare to find secondhand I would of thought.

okay I only bought it as it was the easiest and cheapest conversion.
I'll think about it later in the year mate as main thing is getting welding done. Think sean will get annoyed with doing all the path work on mine haha
