Hi all been registered here for a while now, I just got my first metro in 16 years my last on was a 87 city E, I am now a proud owner of a 94 1.4 cd, 3rd owner with 71k miles, I seen in on the web at 9pm on sat and had her on my drive by 10pm she is a very clean car and solid but not mint. The old girl got put in to daily use first thing Monday morning as my grand scenic clutch master cylinder gave up 6 miles out side alton towers, So far have got a 100 miles to a tenner, have loads of plans for her will gets some pictures up when I take some and work out how.

Will be fun to know exactly what mpg you can get out of a standard 1.4 diesel. will you keep it standard or what are your plans?

I don't do standard, when my daily car is back on the road I will pull the engine out and give it a good clean new water pump, timing belt ect, Im wanting to make it a dunlop metro challenge replica, but there again how many left say there is only 16 diesel metro 1.4 cd left so do I keep it standard?

How about a Dunlop GTi support vehicle/ van thing? Decals and all that, but it's derv and it's a mk3 van? That would be cool.

I have her booked in for a mot first thing tomorrow as it runs out in 3 weeks, gives me a little time if she fails.

Sorry to say this but once you take a new test it voids the old one straight away, Well thats what my local MOT tester said anyway.

I bought my white metro with a 14 month MOT, the previous owner took it in 2 months early and when it passed they added it on to what was left. That was 4 years ago mind.

I have always took a car in a month before its test to give me time if it fails to fix it, and never had a problem. The good news is my metro now has 13 months mot on her,

You can have a 13 month MOT, if you have one a month before the old one runs out
so as to preserve the same MOT anniversary as the old one, but you need to present
the old MOT cert to do this, I've done it loads of times. Also on the new MOT cert,
it tells you the earliest date that the vehicle can be presented for test to maintain
the same anniversary MOT date, which is a month before the MOT runs out.

I have won a boot spoiler think its dark green so I will paint it satin black and I am going to order the paint for the wheels don't know if I am going to do them satin white or gloss, also ordered a toffee wheel as I'm going to remove the rubber door strips, I'm also looking in to getting a 1.5 diesel engine to have a go of sticking a turbo on.
