Thought I'd start a little thread on this, most people already know it from when Tony converted it originally, now back on the road with itb's running on an Emerald ecu.

Hey bud, is the exhaust 4-2-1 or 4-1? I'd like to see what the clearance is like for the downpipe under the car

Looking good though, bay needs a little tidy up

Thanks bud, I'm doing a B18 100 soon and have a 4-1 mani where all 4 primaries run under the sump, but I'm worried about ground clearance so may have to use the stock C4 manifold. Also if I could ask you a big favor...have a quick measure how much space there is between exh ports and slam panel/rad?

Where abouts are you based? Would love to come see it in person for some ideas

Ah I have a vague memory of this!

Will you be around next Tuesday? I drive from Letchworth to Basildon at the beginning of each week for work so would be passing pretty close. Drop me a PM if you're around to save cluttering the thread.

Any further plans for this car?

Glad you liked it Munday ; ) Have braided brake lines and new rear wheel cylinders going on this week, have managed to lose about 20kg or so whilst still making it look standard from the outside. I was going to turbo it but am thinking I might drop a B18C6 in there, that will give me an extra 37bhp and a bit more torque

Sounds good

C6 would be mega! What exhaust are you running atm? The aftermarket metro ones are 2", you'd see some healthy gains just by getting a 2.5" made up and some EK9/ITR cams

Yeah was thinking of going that route but tbh I know I would get bored of small gains lol, will change the exhaust when I change/upgrade the engine

Tony did the original conversion but to be honest it's not too bad and not too expensive, you can pick these engines up for £200 160bhp and 8000rpm plus Honda reliability, the biggest headache was the wiring.

Why are b16 £200 and b18 £1500 not worth the extra for 30 or so bhp I would turbo the 16

You are probably getting confused between a B16 B16B and B18C6, the latter is the 1.8 type r, you can get B18's cheaper but the the type r's are sought after and demand a premium, I have just been offered a B18C6 for £1000, B16B is the 185bhp 1.6 type r and are also similar money
