I'm O.K. at stuff Posts: 1405 Location: Leeds - A Better City Than Yours. | Yeahh autosmart tar remover is the shit! Best tar remover ever. But I dont think that would get rid of them marks. Have you tried claying the black marks, that should shift it. Or use some all purpose cleaner (neat) on a cloth and rub it. Degreaser works wonders too and its cheap from any supermarket. But try clay first.

Lotus powered R100 MP Admin Location: Torbay, South Devon, UK | Get in there with a soft brush.. like a smaller version of a wheel brush rather than a tooth brush (or even a NEW small soft emulsion paint brush) & make sure that there is absolutely no grit in the nooks & crannys around the badges.. using normal shampoo or pre wash stuff.. I have some of my orange clean stuff for snow foaming - mixed with water in a spray bottle for getting bird shit & stuff off in between washes.. ok as long as you rinse it off thoroughly. When its as clean as it can get with the brush & suds & there is no grit.. then you can think about tar remover or claying. I wouldn't cut n polish as it is more likely to be muck on the surface rather than damaged top coat.. if its not the top coat you don't want to use something too abrasive that could dull the shine & give you more work to do than is necessary. When claying though you are likely to get the clay covered in black from the sides of the badges & it may dull them. Start with tar remover & see how you get on.. work it in with a cotton bud/swab which should be small enough to get between the letters etc. Take bonnet vents out to do them.. should be straight forward then & means you don't have to work around anything. Carefull with your choice of what you use to black the plastics back up & make them shiney.. it may be a poor application of back to black or similar that you are trying to deal with now.. Fish freak! MP Admin Posts: 14989 Location: Birmingham | Clay should shift it, or a light-to-mild cutting polish used on a cotton bud. Ade's idea is a good one though, especially if you want new badges, just take lots of measurements if you do that
