Hi all, recently decided to be different and use some yellow tyre paint on my tyres.
I think it looks awesome now Makes it stand out especially with the yellow section of the stripes.
What does everyone think?

what bothers me the most is that the two words r888 and toyo isn't opposite each other on the tyre, that is quite asymmetrical.

Thanks for the replies. By race tyres do you mean formula one? Because a lot of people race with toyo r888's I believe.

Yeah I noticed about the words not being opposite each other but that's due to the fact that the word toyo proxes is opposite r888. So they've centred r888 opposite those two words.

888s arent really a race compound though. It looks a bit strange with dunlop up the sides of the car then toyo on the wheels!

Yeah R888's are listed in the MSA regs now but I meant like these:

Dont ask me how this is ant different to what youve got, but it just is somehow.

That's true they're not but aren't they the control tyre for some races? The MG Metro Cup runs tyres like Yokohama A359's but they're not classed as a racing compound either, yet they still race with them. That's all i was getting at.

The proper term is trackday tyre. So you could argue that they're a race tyre if infact races take place with them. I guess most people associate the high end racing like Formula One where they use slicks to be the definition of racing.

I have Toyo tyres decals on the side of the car to match the tyres i'm running. If i could've got dunlops which looked as good as the Toyo's and weren't stupid money then it'd have been more inkeeping with the scheme to go with those. But since the roversport tyres were only made specially for the 1990's championship i'd have no chance of getting them. Plus people have feedback from the Toyos and they seemed like a great choice.

Personally i think it looks loads better with the tyre writing, even if it isn't a Dunlop make. It works very well with the colour scheme and ties in with the yellow on the stripes and mintex brake pads decal.

Well they are slicks so they're different in that respect
The actual slicks do have the logo and writing coloured as well though, which do look better. 7

I have no idea to be honest. That photo was 2007. They were equiv to 185/55/13s tho. They fitted perfect and were front of i think formula Renault of the time.
