Where can I get front knuckle joints from as mine started squeaking today and assume the nylon cup has worn out

Hi Mate

Yes the rears on R100 etc are different and hard and bloody expensive to get!

I stripped the rears apart as they were creaking to find one side dry and rusty I was able to polish up the worn edge grease and refit as it's not a ball and socket joint more like a knee joint I believe the are fitted to the later R100 and mgf's as my rover metro had the earlier type ball and socket type

Well worth doing, it's a much better quality joint.

They look like the rear ones for a R100 so are the arms the same just a different joint ?

The rear metro/100 and MGF joints are called Roller Foot joints, the r100 rear joints are longer and so are
deeper set into the rear radius arm so you cannot fit a MGF joint into a r100 rear radius arm, a good upgrade
for the front metro/100 upper arms is to fit mgf front upper arms if using hydro cans, as the Roller Foot joint
has less friction than the nylon ball/socket setup.

My R100 already has the roller foot type in the rear radius arm but my earlier metro was the nylon cup type
