Started out 2years ago with my mini ritz

(don't seem to have a decent pic)

Then this happened:

Kind of a rush job to get it useable again and ran it for another year like this before getting the metro

Metro is now my daily while the mini gets some TLC

Bumpers had scrapes so I did my best rattle can paint job On them but haven't got the pictures to hand
Mirrors and side strips need some paint as they are faded ans a front wing has some bubbling

Plans really are to try and stiffen it up and improve the road holding
Feels kind of like it's gliding on the road rather than gripping the road

Plans are to lower slightly and individualise
Fit the gti ARB
Wider tyres (what size can I fit on the standard 6spokes?)

Anything else that will improve it? I'm all ears

Right now I'm enjoying fuel injection and more power but it just feels too wallowy and soft

I'll stop rambling now

P.S - Sorry the pictures are so big :/

Welcome bud, nice cars Nearly cried when I saw the mini! Glad you got it sorted though.
Looks like youre going in the right direction with the mods. Indivulised units, arbs and decent rubber completely change the feel of std 100's. Do a search of the tech section, theres loads you can do to improve handling.
As for tyres im sure gta 6 spokes are 5.5j. 185/55/13 is my preferred size but since these are getting hard to find Id go for 175/60/13, mainly to try and keep the rolling radius as close to 185/55/13 as possible. Others use 175/50/13 and ive known 185/60/13 used before.

Cheers mate

Yeah im abit weary to start playing with it atm as i need it for work and whenever i tried to do something on the mini over a weekend something would go wrong and break nd of course nothing is open on a weekend for replacement parts!!

Hopefully the metro will be kinder to me

Are GTI cans/hydro units or whatever they are called different to normal ones?

Ive had a look on the lowering guide and it seems pretty do-able (apart from the maths )

I think ill wait until it gets warmer though bloody freezing!!

Some local members might be able to to lend a hand. Your GTa looks tidy and good base to get nice and mint. Yes GTi rear cans are different (better damping) but front ones are the same, though people fit MGF rear cans.

Ive updated my location now

Whats the advantage of using MGF rear cans on the front? Did they use a front metro subby in the back of MGFs?

Are they set up differently aswell?

Cheers and please bare with my crap questions

Subbys- pretty much yes. Some people upgrade to a TF (coilovers) rear subframe in the front of a Metro. I think the MGF cans have better damping rates than Metro front ones- even GTi. Get some ARBs, as your GTa won't have any.

Okay so some MGF rear cans for the front
Gti rears
ARB
Also individualisng and wider tyres
Maybe lower slightly

Guessing anti roll bars will be a secondhand purchase?

Cheers for the tips all

Hoping the above will tighten/stiffen everything up, would rather use the better cans rather than use standards
