Just new to the forum and thought I'd share some pics of my rover 100 GTA project.

P1020849

Plan is to put a 1.8 vvc engine in.

So far I've got

The old 1.4 engine out
All the hydrogas units and brakes drums sandblasted and painted.
Interior stripped out
Lowered
New splitter and front grill
Welding a rear strut brace in tonight
Engine bay painted

What I'm struggling with is finding somewhere that sells a wide arch kit. Would a kit for a mini fit with a bit of tweaking??

I'll put some more photos up when i get chance.

Welcome to MP. Nice GTa, it looks tidy. What wheels do you have planned for a wide arch kit!? Only thing available is a MG Metro Turbo kit which only fits R100s on the rear. Dave Aston had one for sale modified to fit with the R100 rubstrip and GTi bodykit iirc.

I wouldn't space the wheels that far if I was you... It will ruin the steering feel with moving the wheels further from the pivot point.

Welcome to MP btw. Looks like you have grey bumpers which is strange for a GTa as they were all colour coded out of the factory. Do you have rear turrets then if you are welding in a strut brace? If you don't then it will just add weight... The rear inner arches have no loading forces due to the lack of dampers and strong subframe design. If you have turrets then tis makes a little more sense as you are loading the inner arches with force.

Little update on the R100

Got the engine almost there now, just need the loom converting wich is under way, and i need a flywheel (4pole rover 216) if anyone can help there.

engine bay is spotless now.

hoping to have her running in a few weeks max and on the road for spring.

done a few weight saving bits, polycarb tinted rear windows, removed the rear seats, light weight door cars. plus loads of other bits i've managed to bin.

put a harness bar in.

Oh and some very over the top rear arches that i'm sure will look ridiculous.

Its a bit hard to get any decent photos atm because its tucked up in the garage but i've put some of the bits and bobs up.

the engine when I first got it >>

P1014134

And after I'd spent £400 on it

P1014572

MGF brakes and braided hoses, hydrogas is lowered of course. ARB. yet to polybush it unfortunately.

P1014561

This is a air fillter housing I've made. The top clips off and the fillter just slots in. got a K&N panel fillter.
