Just went to Wickes in my Metro and collected a 2m x 60cm heavyweight kitchen worktop. Dropped the back seat and wound down the passenger seat - the worktop fitted with room to spare! One end propped up on the dash and the other end supported by the passenger seat and the tailgate closed. I had plenty of room to drive. May consider starting a house removal business!
