I have the feeling that this has the potential to be the biggest thread in the history of MetroPower!

No names but have 'sold' stuff to four members through the for sales section with only one coming good. Nice people but generally a nightmare to do business with!

See i definately remember the days where you PM someone...make the effort to go and actually collect an item (shock horror!) and be happy with said item... and this is before the days of MP this is back to PMC.

There was a time when you would create a thread and recieve positive feedback...now you have to think twice just incase some "numb-nuts" decides to to post something to start a full on war... the amount of therads that dont end "happily ever after" on here is rediculas. Again internet culture as those who start the war are little more than a Keyboard Warrior in real life.

Is this back in the good ole days when a Metro was worth more than 2 shillings and sixpence?

It is not representative of internet transactions, it is hugely abnormal and probably due to the fact that they are a cheap disposable car, so are primarily owned by people who don't have much money and so fail to pay postage.

To try to brandish every website as being as poor as this one for transactions is either daft or just plain ignorant.

I advertised on here and got treated to the 10p gangster timewasters, they talk the talk but have as much ability to walk the walk as a f**ing paraplegic. Should I say I will avoid everyone?

Nope you are totally correct, it is the influx of disposable buyers, buying a car for peanuts and then trying to perform the cheapest possible mods. So yes it would be back in the days of the Metro being worth more than 2 shillings and sixpence. Fortunately i stil deal with people who are grateful of the expertise avaliable and actgually listen

So no dont avoid everyone, there are some of us that talk the talk and walk the walk better than the 10p gangersters...sell Sh*te tho and we will still walk away!

Timewasters are indicative of every forum, it is part of life unfortunately. Take the case above where Ceberea was selling something then the guy manages to reply on the same day yet claims computer issues? Possible, but unlikely.

Genuine enthusiasts are rare on any forum as when people get a windfall they tend to upgrade to a superior car, as harsh as it sounds in Metro world that means any other car on the market. Thats why people buying a cheap car and being able to justify time and money on putting these 1.8 engines in that everyone harps on about is few and far between. Most dreamers are probably just blowing smoke up their own arse as any car in mint/clean condition attracts a premium and it isn't worth doing it with a nasty nail which most are now.

Further more mate i do 60 hrs a week work so since you got so much time on your hands, to make a thread about 10 quid you can kindly go braid where the sun dont shine, as you seem to be losing brake pressure...............

Metchimad, You contacted me regarding the Goodridge hoses on 26th May which was a Monday and said you wanted the hoses. I provided my paypal address and you said you were going to paypal me the money over at the weekend, as you didn't have the £10 at the time I never received the payment. I contacted you after that to chase things up, and you didn't pick that email up until Mid June. Under no circumstances have you tried to contact me since picking that email up, pay me or even give me the common courtesy of a message stating you didn't want them anymore.

So I stand by my decision that you are a TIMEWASTER, and dealing with you should be avoided.

TBH I dont care how many hours a week you work, if you make an arrangement, stand by your word and keep to your promises. Otherwise it's just messing me, and others around.

By the way, I'll think you'll find it's you loosing brake pressure, why else would you be looking for braided hoses.

Don't agree with this whole "should only collect stuff" business... some of us don't live within 10 miles of the midlands where 90% of this stuff tends to come from

Tbh it's the same on here as with eBay... have a quick check and u soon get an idea of whether to do business

I wouldnt say thats a fair statement either... ive travelled up and down the country many a time for bits and pieces. I dont think it matters whether its a £10 item or £1000...if you want it you're prepared to put yourself out to get it...if not dont moan about it

I'm surprised this thread lasted so long without becoming a slagging match

tbh I posted before without thinking about what the thread was but on reflection I think this thread needs rules and shouldn't be for discussion. Maybe a tidy-up by admin is needed so the thread only shows in accordance with below? Other general comments could be moved to a different thread.

Suggested rules.
1. Where feedback is to be left, the poster should put the name of the person in the subject box above the message and a simple description of the proplem. i.e. simply what has happened from your point of view and with NO silly comments as to why or name calling etc.
2. Feedback should be limited to 5 lines of text maximum. And comments more than 5 lines should be cut off by admin at the end of the 5th line.
3. The person who is the subject of bad feedback is allowed to make one reply only, which should quote the feedback left about them, their reply is then limited to 5 lines and subject to keeping to the facts as they see it.
4. There should be no further discussion by either party on the thread or by any other person. Any such posts will be deleted by admin.

Right then as Baz has read my last pm i sent him then logged off, im putting this in here. Baz ows me 18 quid for oil which i bought for him in september 08, i had not even met him before i bought it so he could get his car serviced when he was up here. He said at the time he didn't have enough money so i said just pay me when you get back home. I never pushed for this money at all, but after a month or so with no contact from him i got suspicious. I had contact with Baz mid december and he said you would have the money by January he was going to send a cheque first thing. Now guess what,......No feckin money. Im not being unreasonable after 3 n half months of waiting this is taking the piss. So everyone take note, don't trust him, total timewaster. And if you read this Baz keep the fooking money, and happy new year!

i'm in the same boat aswell Niel,

i bought items to service his car for him which he did pay for but the griffen quickshift and the gti spoiler. i never got paid for even tho he did promise to pay me on several occasions but still hasn't as yet. and now iv'e given up on recieving my money now and have told him to just keep it. even tho he has promised i will recieve the cash in the new year i havn't. i always thought Baz was a canny lad and seemed to get on with him but true colours always show in the end. this is a members i won't deal with ever again or even respond to any PM's from him

so a second warning to fellow members 'beware'

the former messing me about over an engine got me to drive to pick it up 200 mile round trip then refused to pay any compensation for messing me about, regardless of circumstances involved i am not happy.

the latter non recipt of goods to value of £25 but i may chase him up yet, he did say he lost my address but has not been on since

petrol_head, have you forgotten to include the fact you sent me insultive and offensive pm's because I had no money to pay you and had to somehow get a car so I can get to uni. I had no intention to crash my car and not buy the engine as it wasn't just you who lost out as quite a few people who were included in the conversion who lost out and yet did not demand I paid them.

I wish to put petrol_head in here for sending insultive and offensive messages via pm because of unforseeable circumstances which could not be prevented.

I actually only have one car and that I cannot afford to tax that. You did get replys until you got offensive and threatning me that you would take action to get your money. Condecending and telling me to "grow up" just backs up my original thoughts and opinions I had been told about you.

well i dont remember saying anything like that, seriously it was a c**k up for both of us as for what you have been told, I DONT CARE WHAT WAYNE HAS SAID ABOUT ME, i am a honest person and always try to help you would know that if you had actually met me,

don't bring me into it plz it's not my problem

Tommeh - selling me an engine/loom/ecu/5as and saying that it all worked when infact he got the engine for free, had the wrong flywheel on it and never had got it to work. Wasted my time and money because the engine wasn't even a mems 1.9 engine like he claimed. It was a mems 1.6 engine with a mems 1.9 inlet bolted on.

Yet I've just had quite a normal transaction with Mat. I've just bought a lightened flywheel from him. Good comms, especially given it was Christmas, no problems with collecting the item and it was exactly as described/pictured.

Nice and easy all round; what more can you ask?

Il stick with this post this time..

Dam_buster, Bought a car of him that wasnt really how it was advertised, spec was all over the place to what was listed, and some things/issues in the add you think he would mention, he diddnt.

I posted this yesterady but asked for it to be removed so he could respond to me/text... but he diddnt bother.

disapointing none the less, i paid good money for a car that has been de-spec'd..

sorry to post this up, but it has to be said.

Vvc warrior. Sold me a 1.6 flywheel ok getting it but the flywheel looked like he had pulled it
from out of a river, but the thing that really pissed me off is that the little bolts that hold the clutch plate on
One of the bolts had been broken off in inside the flywheel. So the thread was stuck inside, must have none this as
He said it was of his engine convertion. BAD SELLER

Why didnt you Pm me insted of making yourself look like a fool ?? youve had the flywheel for over a months now

The flywheel is/was in perfect condition when it left my house, i've used it and it doesnt have any broken studs and as for the rust yes on the back side as they all do but the clutch plate side is clean, so your full of shit the flywheel will most proberly be your own and have decided to point the finger like a little boy.

Yeah lets see the pic's

as i know exactly what the face of the flywheel looks like, also i still have all the little bolts for it so i can't see for one second that there's one still in the flywheel, simpley because i have the bolts on my Pg1 flywheel that's attached to my vvc engine in the car.

Ive seen the flywheel myself and the rust is to be expected but the sheared bolt just insn't. Wayne its up to you if you like to bodge things onto your conversions but i know Tom wouldn't and therefor hasn't used it. I'd like to see what you have to say when the picture has been uploaded.

In my experience I've bought and sold from Wayne (vvc warrior) many times and have never had a problem myself.

I also don't think this thread is a particularly good idea in general. People can get a bad reputation for maybe making a genuine mistake, i personally think these things should be kept to pm's only. most people know who the good and bad sellers are, if you go to a shop and dont like what you get you dont go there again simple.

nothing a 'easy out' cant sort out,
- Not the point.

A valid response from Tom Sanderson there though.

Its easy for vvc warrior to sit there saying i wrote this and that on the flywheel blah blah blah so its not mine, who wouldnt do that to try and protect their "reputation" especially as he's an administrator. Personally i think vv warrior has handelled this completely the wrong way by replying very aggressivly and child-like. I know for a fact at least one of Tommy B's messages got deleted as i was there when he pressed submit, so how can he say "i wait on edge for your reply" then delete it.

Anyway i dont think your setting a very good example to everyone else on here by acting the way you have just to try and cover your own arse. I KNOW your at fault, accident or not.

lets not start a bumming wayne thread.
doesnt take a genuis to work out he has a very good reputation for selling on the forum.
Its up to him to deal with this problem, if resolved the buyer can remove feedback if neccessary

do think certain accounts should be unable to sell things via metropower. Having to go through the paypal dispute is a long process when the individual refuses to contact you at all.

I think there should be a 3 strike rule or something

We as Admin cant really do anything when members transactions go tits up, but we can change there ranks ( we do now ) or even remove them from the forum if the bad reports continues

wakorover should be banned

His name only appears once in this thread.. don't think that warrants a ban!

Anyway as I said - he has not logged in again since I sent him a PM about this matter (not read it yet)

I wont do anything until he has read it & responded.

Not a huge sum of money, 60quid. 5 weeks and still no parts. I've called messaged. I've had one phone call back telling me he's looking into it and nothing. Thought he was alright but enoughs enough.

Unless a deposit was paid I see no problem there at all? If I didn't have a deposit for an item I'd do exactly the same thing if a mate asked to buy it there and then.

I think this would fall under the timewaster category.
Not that serious but other forum members might want to know.
Its probably no big deal.
