astra splitter will be difficult as it requires a better angle and closer image than you have there, otherwise the splitter will look Sh*te and you wont get the right aspect of it fitted to the car

I just created them myself, skirts are based uponstandard 100 ones, and i just made them slightly deeper and more detailed as they already have the raised sections front and rear its just that they are not very visable, so i just pronounced them more

and the bumper is double up of the 100 one but pulled out slightly more to beef it up abit

There damn good mate You might want to use the hue and saturation tool to match the colour of the bumper to the number plate insert . It helps to have the colour of the bumper in the colour selecter so use the syringe tool to get that colour. Just use the magnetic lasso tool around the bumper then goto image - adjustments - hue and staturation and click the colorize button. It helps to have the colour of the bumper in the colour selecter so use the syringe tool to get that colour

cheers lloyd.think im feeling the blacker mesh and the black inserts.
wheels are looking alot better when duller but im not too keen on the colour coded spliter, possibly because its had damage and aint fitted properly.
how do you mean 'paint renovation'.
thanks alot by the way.appreciate this alot.

By 'paint renovation' i mean that i made the paint appear a bit deeper. Compare my image to the one below it and you'll see a slight difference.

To do fancy text go on the layers window, right click on the text layer and click blending options. Then use the blending options to get the effect you want

Andy, where oh where oh where did you get the clean shiny R100 pic? is it one of yours? I'd REALLY like to do a better (less grainy) 'shoped tro but can't find ANY decent images on the net!

And before you say, why dont I take a pic of my r100 - mines a heap of sh*t, rusty arches, laquer flakin off bumper & bonnet, scratched to fook etc. - I'd have to spend hours just cleanin it in photoshop before I could even think about modding it!

oooh which reminds me, anyone handy with the bodywork side of things near me, cause I'm rubish/inexperienced, work full time, generally don't see the light of day at weekends & when I look at it I lack motivation to do it - cause I just wanna cry! (I'll take some shots & upload them tonight!)

And as for the 18" wheels and fat-boy arches?
And the RS turbo arches?
And the Skyline bonnet vent?

Its an impossible dream, and anyway, I want it to be a propper van.
Sheet metal in place of glass covering the recess.

Still, its nice to dream.

mate, give me a welder, some time, and enough sheet metal, and id bloody sort that out fine... but the wheels... well 18"'s are a bit of a push really... i reckon 15"'s would look awesome tho, specially if they were slightly offset to fill the wider arches...

nothing is impossible, your imagination is your limit...

if you can imagine it, there IS a way to do it (well that saying can sometimes be a bit false)

one day, if i get the time and the cash, i may well have to prove this statement right, and do a metro van, with large wheels, wider arches and a nice bonnet vent fully smoothed in... then you can buy it off me for alot of cash jokez

Its a bit big to be sent as a file.
Your best bet is to do the following...
1- Download the program 'bittorrent' and install.
2- Download the program 'peerguardian' and install. (always have this running when bittorrent is downloading)
(These programs are free by the way)

Then go to a website such as www.torrentz.com, search for what you want (ie - photoshop cs) and download with bittorrent. (it helps to get one with a keygen lol)

While youre downloading photoshop, you may also want to consider gettin a program called 'power iso' if you dont want to have to burn your copy of photoshop to CD/DVD. Some downloads come with it packaged with the program tho.

Hope this helps

You have the wrong layer selected, select the layer you want to edit, (it helps to title your layers as parts). Also you may have unknowingly lassoo'd a selection you didnt want to, in which case just just de-select it.

As above...
So anyhoo, washed the metty yesterday, and me dad washed his, so I thought, while the weather's nice, I'll try out the tripod and got sum good snaps.
Amongst them was my dads BMW 3series which I decided to pimp.
And then I wondered what my car would look like in black with various wheel colours... I know there are poor light levels towards the front of my bumper...
But anyhoo, it filled my afternoon up!

Which do you prefer of the below black ones?

Thats my afternoon destroyed !

Bit of a well know car behind the scenes this one. I orignally did amerenth switch v1 a while ago before i knew how to use variation and only used hue and saturation. I since lost that image a while ago and couldnt find it again to reminise so I decided to make V2 utilising the same but with better photoshop skill. So its a closer shade to amerenth than the original. Enjoy

One guy did make a metro in Amaranth (No E's) but IMO it looked very odd

Doing a gti conversion to your car might be abit hard unless you can get a picture of a gti in the same angle

would be alot easier just to 'shop a light coloured GTi into amaranth though wouldnt it?

plus you wont find any/many amaranth GTi's so you'd have to respray it or get the front end resprayed yourself..

read above, to find a properly angled car to do it would be a PITA, best bet would be to find a lightly coloured metro and get it to look amaranth... well thats the only way i can think of doing it with p.shop without a feckload of hassle!

shame the galleries down, if it werent i'd find a light/white metro and do it myself.

Could someone try and make me a signature using the pictures from my thread? My PC is dead at the moment and has been for several months so I can't really do it myself.

If anyone's up for the challenge , i'd love to see the results

Nice work there - steph's done something similar to mine (i'll get her to upload it later!)

one thing i would say would be that the lens flair for the headlights is a nice effect but the resulting colour spot on the left of the picture make it obvious that thats what you've done.

Try experimenting with doing that effect on a seperate layer (may have to be a solid colour to do it? in which case lasso round the lights & copy them onto a black layer then set the layer mode to 'lighten'. You now have the chance to erase the colour blobs of flare that you don't want!

Another tip - use a layer mask INSTEAD of using the eraser tool. Hit the mask icon on the bottom of the layers pallet (like - [ o ] - ) on the layer you want to erase, then use the brush tool to paint out the bits you want to erase (which just hides them) black to hide, white to show & shades of grey for levels of transparency. This way if you've ereased more than you wanted to - but did it so long ago its not in the history any more, you can just paint it back in with white (un-mask it). - saves you startin from scratch! (saved my ass a few times!)

Just remember not to apply the mask until your completely happy with it (or save a .psd with the mask intact so you can go back if you need to!)

More tips next week

I need a resonably high quality picture of a R100 at the same angle as this seat as im gonna try and photoshop the bumper on

Any body want to volunteer theirs?

Edit: Scrap that, tried it and it looked awfull as im not talented enough
anyways i photoshopped that pic, pretty much the same apart from I debadged it, gave it tints and a slight badboy on the bonnet

Cheers Jeckulz! Not sure which i prefer, they all look good but the darkest maybe a bit tacky. Somewhere between the first 2 maybe, a kind of anthracite colour.

Ta!

Thanks m'darlin - I know Tinks gonna love it... as long as you can put up with me working on it - all will be sweet!

This I do agree with, I would like my Fiesta lowered significantly, I'm lucky that she is already black, and would like my windows tinited,
I would like a bigger spoiler but don't think I'd go for a full bodykit, maybe a different rear bumper.
I don't mind lexus lights but I think they may look a bit rubbish on my car!
Will try and post a picture, if Fiestas are allowed?!

Righty, I want a piccy done.

Knightfire red R100 3dr, black 15" 5spoke MGF wheels, lowered, Laguna splitters front and rear, twin 3" outwardly rolled exhaust (I mean one on each side), black bumpstrips and bumper inserts (and I mean black, not grey), dark tints and a hint of a rollcage thru the window...

If anyone with a pic of a Knightfire 'Tro (Barber?) doesn't mind a photoshopper using them, that would be cool...

Thank you!!

Got bored last night, opened up photoshop and the annoying mouse glitch had gone (caused the mouse to bounce all over the show while trying to use tools) and i spent some time doing a photoshop (its so damn stress relieving!) cause its results day tomorrow and im quite nervous bout it!

Im quite happy with it, very subtle, but i love the fooking wheels, still standard honda wheels just with anthracite centres, absolutely love the way they look!

Look carefully

the front bumper is lower and wider, the grill is more aggressive aswell

the side of the car, i stretched the side moulding, darkened the shadows, then moved the lower part down a bit and flared it at the back, the back of the car i lengthened down.

Im glad that you didnt realise it was bodykitted xD its the look i was going for

Tis a tidy shop Freddie, well done mate

Really need to dust off my 'shop & get some practice in at modding cars - seems my skills are a bit lacking in that department!

mind you, while you lot have been doing cars i've been doin other things..

*edit* by the way - the copyright on the bottom one doesn't mean it took me 5 years to do it! - I did it in '02 for a uni project & tweaked it this year to go on my myspace page

The s2000 was my first "dust off" car xD

Last proper one i did was the beemer that i think is in this thread, i did that years ago now... and since hten ive never really bothered, either because ive never been in the mood, or because of the mouse glitch i had in PS... but now the mouse glitch is gone i think its time for me to start doing more 'shops

Ok, this ones gonna seem a little strange.

It would be awesome, and id be well grateful if someone could slam and put some banded wheels on this for me.

If you can be bothered could someone maybe do one with it slammed on superlites too?

Cheers in advance,

Nice shop freddie.
Got skills! Try using the burn tool on the tyre tops underneath the arches when you lower, less obviously a chop that way.
Like what you did with the wheels!

i agree with andy

the single lights look the bestest ever.

personally to make that my dream golf i would put it on some banded steel wheels to make it look that bit more subtle, plus it'd be lowered that bit more.

my dream polo is on digimods website, its just slammed on its arse with some lush wheels and looks so damn good. if i could link to it i would, but unfortuneatly i cant.

That looks pretty quality, one problem is the front bumper is too low on the left, and needs to be lifted slightly.

Otherwise thats one awesome p-shop

I think it might be the new Civic IMA saloon thingy. Too many doors for a Civic coupe or integra

Why are porshce ones not body colour? = contrast!!

Lowering = next job (next month?)

Wheels - your just jealous because they're the only set on a metro!... I love em & i'm keeping em!

& they don't look right as i've not finished the body mods yet - imagine it lowered, custom skirts, custom bumpers (lower to ground)

Difference is mutts, your car isnt a porsche, and never will be. light blue and yellow, dont mix.

The wheels may be the only set on a metro, for a reason, they look odd as f**k, doesnt make you special.

Ive only seen my set of 14" cosmo's on a metro once, and its mine. Havent seen another metro with them on (except for the previous owners)

And i hope your going to flare your front arch's like f**k before you try to lower it, or you going to have extra speed grooves cut into the tyre pretty quickly.

Hit, Nail, Head!

Thing is, his arches werent sorted were they mutts, as they didnt even roll the rear archs like you asked them to, but they "fettled" with it (i.e. said theyve done it on the bill when they really hadnt!)

Rear arches weren't rolled all the way round (still has lips at the bottoms) but I bashed them back a bit to give me the clearance I needed

Front wings were "flattened as much as he dared" but having taken them off & had a look - he hadn't even cut the tabs of that support the arch liner!

I've now rolled the wing arches flat & flared them out using a heat gun & my big 'guns' - I couldn't flare them any more if I tried!

I'm confident the passenger side wont catch - but the drivers side does catch every now & then - but whether its on the lip or inside the flare I couldn't say.. because i'm in the car driving it when it happens. *touch wood* I've not cut the tyres any more since i've done it!

Salty & Ade can verify how flared the arches are, until I can be bothered to update my journal!

On the front of mine, i cut the entire inner lip off, smoothed it flat and then just pulled them out by hand, which now means that they clear the wheels completely.

The bodyshop you went to were blatently just having you on, there is never a limit to what you can do.

There is if you dont even bother to take the wings off which is what I think happened - he couldn't roll them anymore cause he could see what he was doing - oh & the tabs were in the way!

Surprised the back isn't weighed down more - the amount of filler he skimmed over the new arch panels

No, Personally im jealous of Freddie for having either the only set or 1 of 2 sets of 14" TD Cosmos on a metro. Personally I wouldnt have the wheels you have as I neither like the design or have a sufficient bodykit to make the 15"s look right. I would never buy wheels just because nobody else has them, I couldnt give a Sh*t if someone else has them, its down to personal taste

You try making it wider arch Andy? That is ultimately hard as I can remember from when I did my ZS shop. Youve done a damn good job of it though

I learned mostly from trial and error really and using common sense.. such as brightness/contrast is obviously going to tint windows

Other things I couldnt learn that way I got from tutorials which are eccelent

I learned my skills from digimods (the basic techniques anyway)
The only real way to learn is to spend time on it.
LOTS of time
I must have spent around 100hrs playing with it so far and I still suck.
Cutting is only a fraction of the work... the real hard part is ajustment of saturation/hue and gamma/contrast/brightness control.
Get these right and provided you already have a good grasp of sketching a picture, then you'll be whipping up a f**ing masterpiece!!!

You wanna try and get hold of a full version of photoshop (CS1 or CS2 will do nicely), I suggest bit*COUGH*torrent*COUGH*.com
The digimods bible is how I learned, but the main way to learn is
1 end your social life
2 drink only red bull
3 photoshop anything and everything
4 never sleep... only photoshop
5 do more pracice

Basicaly what Im saying is, have a play with it, it'll come to you
